Pella vs Marvin

Hi there! looking for opinions on Pella replacement windows vs Marvin infinity vs integrity vs full line? I had a contract with Pella and thought they were going to do all full frame replacements and come to find out their only doing pocket install which is fine but I wonder if I'm going to do that if I should go Marvin? Maybe Marvin is a superior product? Anyone have experience with this? We are in an 80s contemporary if that helps with honey oak windows and will do the brown exterior. Vinyl windows are not what we are looking for. Thanks!!

Remove the maybe. Marvin is a far better product quality wise. If you have vetted the dealer properly you will nto go wrong with Marvin over the Pella.

I bought the PElla wood vinyl-clad. I've had these before for at least 6 years, and was satisfied with them. There are only a few cosmetic differences between Pellla's highest series (Architect?) and the next one down (which is also wood vinyl clad), but the cost difference can be substantial. I recently bought some new Pella wood vinyl-clad from Lowes. Lowes carries the next one down from the top, and is cheaper than a regular Pella store. also, if you can get a stock size, that will be cheaper still.

Leaps and bounds better quality IMO. The wood interior on the Integrity is largely isolated from moisture due to the fact that it's basically a fiberglass window with a veneer interior. The pella on the other hand is wood clad in its true definition. I've seen 10 year old Integritys that look good as new, while most pro lines are due for replacement around that time frame. Try to get a look at a corner cut of each to see what I'm talking about. Price wise the integrity is probably a little more, but should be in the same ballpark. I've sold and installed both

@Jason Durivage - We have 80 windows in our new custom build. Our Pella Lifestyle door and window quote is at $90k and our Marvin Elevate door and window quote is $73k. Our neighbor got Marvin Elevate on his custom build and loves them. He had them in his previous house and wanted them in his new house too. My builder said there's essentially no difference except the exterior cladding (aluminum v. fiberglass). Our builder also said Marvin is always very aggressive with pricing in his area (New England) because Marvin wants to capture more market share in this price range. We are most likely going with Marvin. It's a big cost savings and from everything I can find out, it's a great product. Lead time for us with Marvin right now is 16-20 weeks I think my builder said.

We just waited 3 months for an order of Kolbe Vistaluxe windows. We found this out a week into the order, but decided to stick with them because the detailing suited the vision we had developed with our architect. The work to be done to get the house ready for the windows ended up taking longer than expected and it all worked out in the end. They're being installed this week and they're beautiful. I saw a house down the road from here being built with Pella windows and a $$$ slate roof. Based on some of the reviews I've seen here, I feel good about our choices. We can upgrade our roof down the line but will never replace the windows.

Integrity Wood Ultrex and full line Ultimate's are very good products in my opinion. The All Ultrex is ok just comes up short on the appearance scale. You will definitely get better performance values from a quality high end vinyl window however. In that aspect Wood windows in general just cannot compete.

Infinity is an all fiberglass or ultrex product with an option for a wood like interior. Nice product but expensive for what you get when compared to the Integrity wood ultrex. Both Marvin company products but marketed differently. Infinity is a dealer/distributor installed product while Marvin/Integrity has wider distribution/installation channels. Personally, I think the Marvin line (as opposed to either Infinity or Integrity) is the best and has more to offer.

If price is no concern; I would look at Marvin Ultimate windows! I love mine and very glad I purchase them. You can get them with triple pane for sound insulation and increase R value too. Wide color spectrum to pick from along with custom colors to order too! Built within 1/16"
