OFF TOPIC: For Friends of Mustangs

I was contacted in January by the President of the College Coaches Committee that Ray was going to be inducted into the College Coaches Hall of Fame and I was invited (all expenses paid) to the banquet in April.
I just got back from the banquet and wanted to share the experience with my cooking friends. I got to go on stage to accept the award and I took the opportunity to tell cute stories about Ray since most of the audience (600 attendees) were friends and knew him.
Thank you for letting me brag...I mean share this special experience about my guy.

Comments (8)GGG -- That's a really good idea! I have a notebook with those plastic, looseleaf sheets for organizing 3x5 or 4x6 photos. They are about the right size for storing plant tags. (Although Monrovia ones have to be cut off at the bottom a little to fit.) If I get a lousy tag with very little detail from wherever, I still put it in there (so I can remember where I bought the plant), but I try to go online and print out whatever details I find there. Then, I fold it and put it behind the tag in the plastic sheet. It's not very pretty, but for most of the plants in my yard, I have some info. I also have a section for fertilizers I've used in the past. It is hard to remember the formula I like for a particular kind of plant (and I can never remember which number of the three is which). Walter Reeves has some kind of Saturday Night Fever dance that he uses to show people how to remember the numbers, but I still can't recall it when I need to! :)...See MoreKitchens friends I need off topic help. : (

When I contacted GW for help, adding that my problems coincided with forum changes (needing to double click to go back, among other issues), they said they were unrelated and the problem was at my end. However, nothing we did to fix it helped (my husband is a software engineer, too). When GW finally fixed the formatting problems, my problems went away like magic. Comments (9)Thank you so much for letting us know, Patricia. I love the talented Mr. Peacock! :o) I might be mistaken, but I believe Ms. Edna was in her 70s when they met, bumblebeez. I've read in interviews that she was a much beloved mentor & friend. He's said that he found comfort in caring for her in her later age. Comments (23)Devsense...That is the one and only 'Pope John Paul' the first rose..It is one of the most fragrant I have ever had besides sea roses...You have to make sure you protect the stump for winter though which you probably already know) Brian,those are some SOME SPECTACULAR CLOUDS buddy!! I use to get those kind all the time until they cut all the forest away around here. And those flowers are just so pretty..Is that in your new place or your old one? I have always wondered what it was too..It has the most beautiful flowers and can be grown like a Bonsai..The more often you cut it hard back, the thicker the stump gets and the more robust.
