May, 2014 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (21)Sharon, I'm so happy your sister is recovering. A sister is such a special person. Calliope, your puff quilt looks great. What did you fill the little pillows with? Let's see... my goals this month. Well, I did the May lotto block last night. I've finished my DH Block Bluster quilt top. I've purchased fabric for my niece's wedding quilt. I'll probably start washing and cutting this month. I need to quilt my scrap baby quilt and start quilting my Baby Honu quilt. I need to see if I can bring an extra table into my office/sewing room to bear the weight of the quilt as I FMQ. That will leave me with only enough space in my tiny room for my chair, but dragging seems to be my biggest problem while FMQing larger pieces. I guess that's about it for now, especially since the month is a third over already. Happy Mother's Day all you moms, grandmothers and great-grandmothers....See MoreMay, 2016 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (7)Tough one! We have a wedding out of town in the middle of the month. DDG#2. His quilt has been finished for a long time and has been sent off by courier so we don't have to carry it with us. And we will be away for a week. Yesterday I hemmed three pairs of pants and there are a couple more to do. If I get those done, I will be glad. I have two tops that need sandwiching, quilting etc. I hope to get that done as well. I haven't sewed much lately and I am getting antsy to get back to the machine. We'll see how May turns out. Theresa...See MoreJanuary, 2017 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (12)Sharon, I'm so glad you've been able to sew! Beth, my DH does pressure cleaning and between holidays and bad weather, he has not worked much for quite a while. I was asking him the other day how he liked being "semi-retired"! I finished all the units for the Quiltville mystery and have put it away for now. Due to shoulder injury on Jan. 9 I haven't been able to machine sew, so I've done a bit of hand sewing and re-framed several cross stitch pieces. At least it got some small projects out of the closet! Hopefully my shoulder will be better soon so I can machine sew again. Donna...See MoreMarch, 2017 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (8)Tennessee came in like a lion with all the bad storms yesterday. I am thankful for the warmer weather :-) I have my Sewn Seeds quilt on the long arm. I hope I can get started on that?? I also have 2 t-shirt quilts I need to get started on. I've not made one of them before, so I'll be back with advice on that! I'd like to get them laid out so I can get the stabilizer on them. I don't think it will take long if I can just get started on it. I do have a cute story to share..... There is a young guy (28) that exercises with us (community gym) in the mornings. He has a 1 yr old little boy and wanted to create a daddy-style "tactical" fanny pack to replace the diaper bag when they go out. I got him started on how to create a pattern and basic cutting and sewing techniques. I want you to know, he has taken off on this and you wouldn't believe how well he's done!!! He even bought his own sewing machine and dreams of sewing in his sleep!! He commented the other day that he wanted to stay home from work and sew! My boyfriend commented that he hears that from me all the time :-)...See Moreibquiltn4fun LindaH
