February, 2017 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (20)Rita, my doc told me up front that he recommended at least a week off. And he told me that it will be 3-6 months of PT. Today I'm not so sure I'm ready to go back on Mon. I haven't even attempted a shower yet, and the thought of getting ready for work and driving all the way there by myself is kind of overwhelming. Yesterday was the first day I had a normal shirt on (I'd been wearing a huge papery shirt that went around the arm and sling). Today when my DH helped me put a shirt on I kind of freaked out having the sling off. I know it's a process. :) I'm just terrified of doing something wrong and undoing what was done on Monday! Comments (8)Well, I never did goals for June although I did do a baby quilt and 2 receiving blankets for my niece. I've pulled up the directions for the July block so that will go on the list along with a lap blanket with Gingham Cats for a friend. I need to complete something for my nephew's new baby but that may be more along a crafty thing - not so much a sewing thing. I have a couple of other ideas that would make good Christmas gifts for my grandsons but we'll see how the month progresses....See MoreNovember, 2017 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (4)I'm not so sure about setting a goal about finishing it, but I do want to get as much as possible done on this new project I just started. It's called "Starry Night Squaredance" designed by Wendy Sheppard. I saw it in the Better Homes and Gardens Quilt magazine and the pattern is at RJR Fabrics. I am so glad that I really read all the instructions closely before starting it. The cutting instructions were correct but when I got into reading the piecing instructions something was different - it was saying sew the 2 inch squares to the 4 inch rectangles and the cutting instructions said cut all the squares 2 1/2 inches. So I suspected that the instructions were in err but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss something so I emailed the designer. She got in touch with RJR and it was an error and they corrected their instructions online. I've included a link to the pattern but the actual photo of the quilt in the magazine is really nice. I wanted to make it instantly. Starry Night Squaredance...See MoreDecember, 2017 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (4)Yes, water can create problems! Our water heater has been broken for two weeks. Even though we are in FL, the tap water this time of year is pretty cold! We've been having "pioneer days" - heating water on the stove and pouring it in the bathtub. New WH is supposed to finally be installed Monday afternoon. Who knew it was so hard to get a WH replaced?! Goal-wise, I need to crochet 9 bookmarks. One is nearly done! That's my only real goal this month. I have two large tops ready to load and quilt so maybe they will be up next after the bookmarks. Donna...See MoreRobbi D.
