The minute I read your post and saw your pics, this etsy shop came to mind. It looks like your sample pic may have come from this shop as well. Anyways, she has a lot of options, most of which can be used with rings and would look lovely in your window.

Any white eyelet fabric will allow light in, and the ones you've show are VERY sheer. Maybe privacy isn't a concern, though what did you think of these fabrics on eBay? They'd also do more to hide the plumbing on the other wall.

TY for your responses. Privacy is not much of a concern, its our driveway, its a long driveway and we are in the boonies. My husband wants something there but for both of us loss of light would be a bigger negative than any gain of privacy. We really like natural light flooding the house and have very few window treatments that are closed very often.

Lukki, I also like that etsy shop and do browse there for inspiration. Those images, at least one, did come from there.

I also really like the idea of crocheted cafe curtain, it would add more privacy and still allow light I think. Something like this

What about a half/cafe shutter on the lower part of the window? You can then look over the top of it but no one can see in from the driveway. You could put a split shutter if you think you'd ever want to block the whole window sometimes and just leave the top open. Then you can use whatever fabric over the plumbing you want. I might look at having a false back splash created, though, a panel that could be removed when you need to access the plumbing.

Hmmm, that swing up shelf idea is pretty cool. I will give that some thought.
