Guest Picks: 20 Gorgeous Green Fabrics for Spring
Revive a room’s look with the freshest color around, on fabrics in styles from traditional to alternative animal print
The day my husband and I moved into our house, I painted almost the entire first floor green. Mother Nature knows what she’s doing with this hue, and though I’m not an outdoorsy type, I can’t get enough of the color inside my house. My love for green means that I am constantly keeping tabs on my favorite green products. And with warmer temperatures right around the corner, I think we’re all ready to bring more of this natural hue into our homes. And how do I always suggest adding color to your home? With fabric, of course! Dive in and have a look at these prints and patterns that I’m loving right now. — Daniela from Aesthetic Oiseau
Sassari Ikat Leaf Fabric
Sassari ikat from Lee Jofa has to be one of my top-five favorite fabrics of all time. This shade is the perfect apple green, and the timeless pattern goes with everything. I use it in my own living room and love it more and more the longer I live with it.
Portfolio Santa Rosa Pear Fabric
Chartreuse is such an invigorating shade of green, and I love this bulbous geometric. It has the look of flower petals in a small-scale fabric and can be used in so many ways.
Waverly Country House Toile Dill Fabric
This is a classic, feminine and soft toile in a dusty shade of beautiful sage green.
Waverly Bits 'n' Pieces Violet Fabric
I think my favorite color pairing with green is lavender (and plum and orchid). I love the movement and painterly appearance of this fabric, done in this great combination of hues.
Dena Designs Chevron Charade Citrus Fabric
If chevron is still your jam, I recommend this looser interpretation, in which green is center stage with supporting roles filled by gray and aqua. It’s great for a little man’s space.
Waverly Charlotte Walnut Fabric
I love how the vibrant green leaves contrast with the taupe-gray blooms in this fabric. It’s a very sophisticated floral due to its restrained color palette.
Porcelain Blossom Fabric
Fun in a fabric! The grass-green ground (say that three times fast) is so saturated and vibrant, and I adore the urns, plates and platters of the decidedly chinoiserie pattern.
Kitley Print Leaf Fabric
Oh my, yes! This classic, classic floral would make the most perfect backdrop in a gorgeous traditional space. Really rich colors provide lots of opportunity for accompanying saturated tones — think about a raspberry velvet sofa paired with this one.
Chalcott Garden Leaf Fabric
If you like tonal fabrics, you’ll love this one; it has just about every shade of green imaginable. I love to use one color throughout a room and provide interest by using different shades and saturations, and this fabric would be a great foundation for a room done in greens.
Alexander Leaf Fabric
Simply gorgeous, this investment fabric is worth every penny for the sophistication it would add to your space.
Zimmer Spring Fabric
I really love the boho spirit of this fabric; I could see it in a bright white kitchen as upholstery on bar stools, kitchen chairs or even window treatments, like Roman shades.
Jour De Juin Multi on Mint Fabric
I’m a fan of sweet florals, and this spearmint wonder is just precious with its mini blooms and insect critters.
Bindi Cotton Fabric, Kelly
This very simple paisley composed of rich green and navy blue would look beautiful as upholstery juxtaposed with a small-scale fabric on pillows.
Caftan Fabric, Kiwi B
Pink and green comprise another one of my favorite combinations, and I love this vibrant take on ikat. That pop of cerulean blue is so fun!
Gatsby Fabric, Chervil
I would love to see this granny-chic floral stripe made youthful against fuchsia. Or just embrace its traditional prettiness and hang it as beautiful curtains in a spring-green room.
Malakos Fabric, Malachite
Malachite lovers, this one is for you! I think I prefer my malachite in small objets and accessories, but I know some of you can’t get enough of it, and fabric is a great way to get a pattern you love in big doses.
Pagodas Cotton Fabric, Jade
This is one of the best chinoiserie prints out there right now. This green colorway is so striking, and the pagodas are amazing.
Regency Fabric, Lime
Animal print looks quite chic in green. I’m usually not for adventurously colored animal prints, but this green one just works for me, perhaps because of the small-scale print.
32229-597 Grass Fabric
And here’s the buffalo check that I pretty much always include in all of my fabric ideabooks. I just love it so. This green is so neutral that I can see it in a manly study or a guest bedroom.
