Tropical Twist? (Bonnie Hunter)
Comments (19)Hey, ladies....I am Debbie at Stitchintherapy.blogspot.com and I noticed a lot of hits from here today. Here's the link to the photo of my variation to star twist. I only added some of the pinwheel blocks mixed with plain blocks to the top and bottom border for length. I was being lazy and got tired of making pinwheels! Btw, this quilt was donated to ALS and was selected for their national quilt tour. Here is a link that might be useful: star twist photo...See MoreChristmas Stars Quilt 2 pic - opinions sot
Comments (24)Its funny you point that out biwacko, I thought long and hard about that joint. I wanted various spacings (to make it wonky) and this is the only zero space. I had one other at one point and ended up changing it to only one. I decided I liked the extreme variation between that and the pair below with 4 spaces. The problem with spinning it is that it would exactly match the one above it. I even specifically used the one with the darker background to help with the separation. (Like I said, all my i's.....) Anyway, after all this rambling, I thank you for the suggestion but its already sewn, so too late. I like that we both noticed this though. Does this jump out at anyone else? Comments (70)Whew, the top is done! It's hard to see in the photo, but instead of running the "arrows" around all the same direction, I have the center pair pointing toward each other on each side, and added a solid blue square in the corners. It's supposed to have another solid border, but after putting it on the bed I found out one more border would be too big! I'm taking a break from it before tackling quilting it. Comments (9)I really like that. And I love scrappy. I'm also one who loves the piecing but not the quilting, especially lately with the arthritic hands and wrists. But I make myself finish each quilt because as you all probably know by now, I hate unfinished quilts and I refuse to let anyone else finish them. I'm working on another top now, what a relief to get that last one done. I've promised myself to just pick simple quilting designs using the walking foot from now on unless it's a very small project, which I seldom do....See Morepolardream
