Found a new (to me) British mini series
Comments (12)We enjoyed "Island at War". We find all of our Brittish series on DVD from our library unless we've recorded them off PBS. We're about to record "Mr. Selfridge's Store". We finally got around to starting "Anna Karenina" yesterday afternoon -- what an imaginative, knockout production! Jude Law is Karenin. Keira Knightly (28) is Anna. Vronsky is played by a very young man of 22 (dull performance) . I spotted Michelle Dockery as a Russian princess. She plays Mary Crawley in "Downton Abbey". I've never seen the dance steps performed at the ball where Karenina and Vronsky dance together. It sounds like a mazurka, but I've never seen these steps with all the hand and arm gestures. Anyone know?...See MoreA Brit mystery TV series / a US mystery book series
Comments (15)DH and I liked Bletchley and "Bomb Girls". Any day now we are going to start speaking Received English from overexposure to Masterpiece Theater. We are watching "Mr. Selfridge" and "Call the Midwiife" and about to begin "Father Brown". "Breathless" was also just promoted on our PBS station. Oh, and we just finished Season 6 of "Doc Martin". Ta-ta! Time to sound the gong an hour before dinner is served. (I'll be changing into my robe and slippers.)...See MoreDo you binge watch Netflix series....twice? :)
Comments (17)I never binge watch anything . . . until DD comes home from college, that is (LOL)! Over her Spring break, we bw'd "Big Bang Theory". Now home here and recuperating from her tonsillectomy, we're binge watching "Grace and Frankie" and "Fraser". All of the above, we've bw'd before....See MoreOT: Grand Design & Escape to the Country on Netflix. Yay!
Comments (11)I think Escape to the Country and Grand Design are up to 16 or 17 seasons each. I watched a lot of it on YouTube, but recently noticed the Escape YouTube Channel was deleted because of violations. Maybe if there's a lot of views of these shows Netflix will get rights to all the seasons :-P It's been a while since I went through my British Home Shows on YouTube phase, but I think The £100k House was one that I really really enjoyed. If you have an insatiable appetite for before and afters (as I do) you might search YouTube for that one or any of Sarah Beeny's shows....See MoreFun2BHere
