Comments (1)Interesting. StarBrite has been around the marine industry for years selling cleaners/waxes and stuff. Had no idea they had a fuel system treatment on the market. May try some for gasoline engines. Thanks for the link....See MoreDo enzymes in detergents damage cotton?
Comments (16)What all are manufactures adding to their clothing..I think they can add a certain % of other fibers and still call it 100% cotton. And than there's the fabrics that say *blend* ...lets say you have a pair of jeans 100% cotton, but the **other** that's added without having to list it is rayon than there you have it. The cellulose will enjoy that small amount of rayon. You see this frequently in tee shirts..might say 85% cotton 15% rayon. The cellulose doesn't like rayon so that's that. This is why I think cellulose may leave holes. Same for Bamboo which is rayon. I don't get why cellulose is needed to begin with. Yes its supposed to eat tiny pills, but frankly if something is 100% cotton and washed properly there shouldn't be pills....See MoreCare Instructions Say No-Enzyme Detergent - Recs?
Comments (27)In response to comments about the cleaning power (or lack thereof) of Le Blanc, I would use it just for sheets. I do not expect the sheets to get stains, and I never ever eat in bed. I have an older Miele which has the 240v and the water can go to extremely high temperatures. Vaska scent-free detergent looks interesting, but I couldn't find anything on the website about whether it has enzymes or not. It does say it has "potent botanical cleaning agents to clean your clothing and linens effectively" which sounds like the bio-enzymes I posted about above, but I am not sure. As to the cost of Le Blanc, there was a thread somewhere where Rococogurl said the bottle lasted her several years. The best price I've seen is on Amazon, and I have Amazon Prime so the shipping would be free. On the Le Blanc website, the price was higher. I think in a brick-and-mortar store, the price is going to be at least as high as the Le Blanc website. The website has a store locator if you are interested. My sheets splurge was so expensive that it doesn't make much sense for me to worry that the detergent will be $25 more than Tide or All would be....See MoreWashing whites 120F vs. 140F vs. 150F vs. 160 vs. 195F :-O
Comments (15)@Jerrod....I have my Miele Little Giant washer programmed to Cold fill (actually, I even turned the hot water valve to OFF). So, my washer fills with tap cold and then gradually heats to the Temp I have set (Little Giant cycles are via exact temps...nothing says warm, cold, hot, etc...). So, I'm thinking I am getting optimal results in regards to temps working with enzymes and then ramping up to my "hot" set temp! I LOVE this washer more each day. In the past, after 6 months or a year with an appliance, I would be looking & cruising new models ;) But....I don't think I would ever want to be without my LiGi. I would sell it for an OctoPlus though. Just sayin' LOL...See Morejulieboulangerie
