Sally Holmes Rose Question
Comments (6)Many thanks for your help. I pruned back to 5 leaflets today, to encourage new bloom, but will not do again, until needing to train. I purchased some fish emulsion, (yuck), & will wait until new growth appears to use. This rose growing is a whole new "ball game" for me!...See MoreSally Holmes as a freestanding shrub
Comments (2)I grew Sally Holmes (own root) as a huge, free-standing shrub for 18 years in my Newhall garden, Zone 9b . The huge white mound just below the center of the photo linked above. It was gorgeous!...See MoreStorm broke Sally Holmes so I'm rooting cuttings from the broken cane
Comments (1)I've done this and it worked with Moonlight. I'm doing it with Albertine now. Wind is a problem, even for regular bushes. Good luck Cori Ann....See MoreSo she is obviously NOT Sally Holmes

Kristine I think it is too pale for peace. Also it is too vigorous. I have two Peace roses and they barely grow here and just defoliate constantly. This rose seems stronger in nature. We will see what I do with it. It happens to be in one of my very few spots with full sun at the lake so unless it can super impress me it may have to go....See Morejayferg
