What I great find, keep digging I bet you get some more great stuff in the section. I hope you find enough bricks to do all that you want to. All I find here is old PVC pipe. Well that's not true, I have found about 7 or 8 old rusty horseshoes I tacked up on my grape arbor fence. Years ago I saw an ad for some free brick in the newspaper in the next town. I knew if I didn't go get them right away, they would be gone. DH had the truck on a job and I went by to ask him about it - he said he needed it. So at the time I was driving an old cadillac - you know the kinds that are just huge - I went by the house with the bricks and decided to load them in my car (the car was just a ratty old thing anyway) I filled the trunk and then I put some on the floor of the backseat. It took me quite a time to load all of them. Then I started driving home - we lived up a winding mountain road - the car was swaying so bad I had to go 40 miles an hour the whole way - most folks drove 60 on that road and I had quite a line of traffic behind he. I got home and started unloading them. When DH got home and saw I had hauled them in the car he almost flipped. He is real safety conscious and he said I could of killed myself - anyway I ended up making a brick walkway with them in what we called our lower 40 at that house. Who can pass up a free item.

Congrats on a great find! If you have the model number of your new canner, you can check around at different hardware stores for a new gasket. I think True Value was a shop I found some at. You can also check at Rural King stores and Tractor Supply stores if you have them in your area. Check any 'mom and pop' type hardware stores in your area as well. You can also go to the Mirro website and see if they have anyone in your area listed as carrying them. If you don't find them in your area, let me know your model # and I'll see what I can find here. There's loads of places that carry all the canning supplies in this area. If you are going to order your weight set from Mirro, you'd probably want to consider ordering the gasket for your new canner at the same time.

Denisew That's exactly where I first saw it. :-) We got the name off of the back of the one in Plano and googled it. It's a company out of NC and we ordered it and had it shipped. My Hubby pored a slab of cement with bolts in it and bolted it down. Someone actually tried to steal it anyway but after they got it off of the bolts guess they realized it weighed 300 lbs and left it. It's even more secured now.

You found some wonderful "stuff!" I like your lep and how you've displayed him in this vignette...LOVE the 3 bell cloches & they look great sitting there without decor under them. The postcard is cute, too! And the design & color in the placemats are calling to me! Great bin shopping! TFS! Jeanne S.
