I think that table is wonderful and you could use it for a lot of things. Whatever you feel like storing at the moment! Don't you love funky finds like that? I have a small smoking table that I use in my tiny powder room. In the humidor part I keep extra rolls of TP and some other odds and ends. It fits perfectly in the small space between the toilet and the wall. I found it at a thrift shop but paid a lot more than $10.

My question then is if it's a sewing cabinet, where is the machine as there's no indication one was ever set into it. Or if you were to set it up with a sewing machine on top; there is no room to put your legs underneath so I'm guessing it's NOT for use with a sewing machine at all.

It must be a cabinet for the storage of sewing projects and sewing implements then, right?

Strange, my husband didn't think it was a bar either-he thought it was for keeping knitting and yarn. Sigh, now I'll have to admit to him he was right! UUUGGGHHH!

It's a nice sewing cabinet, for storing sewing supplies, not to hold a machine. I believe the tall sides are designed to hold longer items like knitting needles. It's very pretty and would make a nice side table for any use.

I'd put booze in it. :)

WHAT a deal! It looks like it's in great shape and I love these little sewing cabinets. They are so versatile.

I don't think it would have the drawers if it was a bar cabinet. I'm sure it was a sewing cabinet. And your hubby is right that the deep pockets are for yarn and needles.

Such cabinets are in every antique store here in northern MD. They would usually sell for $80 and up.

It's a great find and because it's now yours, you can make it anything you like! How wonderful to get such a nice table for the low, low price of $10. I can't wait to see how you decorate it for the holidays!

we got rid of an old sewing cabinet of my grandmother's when we emptied out my parents' house...the sides had lots of fabric pieces/patterns in them! couldn't think of a place to put it in my home tho... :(

you might want to make sure the side bottoms are strong enough to hold multiple bottles of liquor... they aren't supported and probably aren't meant to hold much weight...

You did luck out! That will make a great bar!

What a cute cabinet! I've seen them on Craigslist here quite often. I started to buy one to put in one of the bathrooms but it wasn't the right size.

By the way, what color yellow is that on your wall? Me likely!

It is pretty fabulous when you can find such a neat piece & get it for so little! My husband had no idea how much I wanted this 'bar' as I didn't want to call attention to it at the auction-I didn't want anyone to take an interest in it in case it lead to a bidding war. I waited until we got it and our other items in the car before I let loose with whooops of joy, lol!

It's such a sweet, small piece that doesn't take up much room so it fits well anywhere in our living room-can't wait to decorate it up!

Sapphire, the paint color is Behr's Butter Cookie but it doesn't look very true in the pic.

That is a Martha Washington sewing cabinet, but the first one that I have ever seen with only two drawers. I have one, but mine has the more customary three drawers. They are wonderful little antiques, and those tall side cabinets are great for storage of tall items. Great idea to use it as a liquor cabinet, you could put things like wine/bottle openers, cocktail napkins, etc. in the drawers. It is a wonderful find for only $10!!
