Need more privacy from my mixed border
Comments (12)I totally agree with MBright - I was going to suggest mock orange, lilac, pheasantberry (leycesteria), ninebark (physocarpus), elderberries (sambucus)... and other tall arching but deciduous shrubs. If you totally want evergreen I'd also suggest mixing in some of the tall coniferous varieties - upright junipers, thujas, or maybe hemlocks, and others of the types used for hedging. My preference is for a mixed, layered approach rather than a hedge, but if a hedge works for you, why not use that? For seasonal coverage, don't discount the value of tall perennials. If you can grow things like delphiniums, cimicifugas (name change to actea), Kiregeshoma koreana, thalictrums, and others that are escaping me at the moment, they can provide some screening too. Finally, regarding sharp holly leaves... if that's a busy street, you probably don't want the kids cavorting around those bushes anyhow, and sharp leaves would give you an additional reason to dissuade them. Comments (7)Pretty dress! Feminine, classy, and modest. Very nice! I'm sorry that it will not suit all but the most fit and proportionate women. Sheath dresses are not forgiving of bulges or extras. The lace adds a further component of being restrictive, as does the high waist, as does the cap sleeves, as does the length. (Anyone with a tummy will lose inches of dress length automatically in front to accomodate that! You would have to lower the hem to account for that.) Nice dress, but it is not for all body types. An A-line will work for the most body types. It's a slightly fuller skirt. Also, fitted dresses have less fabric. If you have more fabric, it hides flaws/issues better. ***Always get the measurements of each of your bridesmaids upfront. That way you can rule dresses in or out as well. No sense looking at that fabulous coral dress if it only goes to size 10, and one gal is size 12. And never rely on what sizes they tell you (the girls or the manufacturer). Bridal wear is notorious for being on the smaller size anyway. **Always get all the girls to try on the dress in the store!! A size 6 from Ava's could be an 8 in Eve's. :-)...See MoreNeed help with my existing recessed lightening.Need to add more lights
Comments (6)I will not be needing a gimbal for the two new recessed lights. They will not be used to highlight anything on the wall. (see pic's below) I just need for lightening above the sofa because it is too dark in the seating area . Unfortunately I do not have the manufacturer's name, the design electrician never gave it to me (and it is so many years ago). My thing is that I just want it to look nice & not look awkward. If I can't get the same exact gold rim (naturally without the gimbal) then I feel I would have to go with a white rim or no rim recessed above the dark sofa area. My concern (I would appreciate your honest opinion) ... Do people mix them up like that? Have two different style recessed lightening in the same room? see the dark area where my verticals are (left of sofa). You can also see the gold gimbals recessed on the right. Thank you for your patience....See MoreNeed help from my virtual bridesmaids, trying to wrap it up!
Comments (46)Love the "hippie headband!" Costs more than my wedding dress! Not to say that is an issue or a bad thing, my wedding dress was dirt cheap! The shoes I am looking at are more than the dress too! The ones I got were very inexpensive, around 30 bucks but that's because they are fabric. The ones I am looking at are leather. I get better wear out of fabric than the fake plastic leather, which I inevitably tear or cut in some way . . . I am hard on shoes, being so outdoorsy....See MoreRelated Professionals
