Comments (4)Thanks - karmahappytoes, he was a real treasure to us. Karyn - He was a full blooded Chihuahua. We never got the papers on him cause, my dh grew up & went to school with the family that gave him to us. But , we never cared about all that. He was ''our little boy'' and that was all, that mattered to us. He was so funny - he once chased a big doberman down the street. Guess, he got too close.lol Yes, he was the ''top dog'' around our house! He never hurt a soul, not even other animals. His fierce bark, was big enough to scare anything off! I don't think, we will ever get another dog. I just can't. Plus, we are still going through a sort of grieving process. Helping with grandkids, sure keeps us busy. And we ain't a gettin any younger!lol. tina_2...See MoreMy heart is so broken...I lost my baby Twinkie yesterday.
Comments (14)Elderly cats do get kidney disease plus heart congestion, our 17 year old cat did and we gave medication, special foods and he hated it and was so thin. Talk about hard, I phoned and got an appointment and told my mom I did and started sobbing and she told me to cancel it. I did puzzled why? She said if its too hard, we won't do it. I said no, its time and I phoned back and my dad and I sobbed all the way there to the vet and then we had to wait while this lady had 4 cats to get checked and then it was our turn and the room they took us in was the same as they check the cats and there was others behind us and so it was a rushed goodbye and I didn't like that at all. We all sobbed and cried, he was my precious, I can still see him coming down the hallway upstairs in my parents place and him yelling his head off and I would say he needs his four hugs a day as he demanded them daily. He was my beloved and I miss him still alot and its been 6 years since we said goodbye. Its a huge gap in our lives when we lose our beloved pets, doesn't matter how little or how long they are with us, that bond is so deep and so strong. Comments (3)Oh Luvs they are beautiful. I have always been afraid of dogs, no clue why, but years ago, a neighbor had a retrevier. She was the gentlest dog I ever knew. My youngest daughter use to go up on their porch and lay down with her head on his belly. His breathing would rock her right off to sleep. That dog would not move untill she woke up. I told my husband, if you ever find a dog like that...we can have a dog. Well, when that baby was in high school, he came home on day with a 2 year old retreiver, named Dixie. The dog walked right up to where I was sitting, put her head on my lap, twiched those eybrows as they do and I was smitten!!! Dixie was my best friend for 5 years. We lost her to a car accident right in front of the house. My four grands that are all 13 this year, all had the chance to know and love her. Goldens are the gentlest dogs I have ever seen. Don't know one that is a good guard dog though. We use to joke that Dixie would probably help a burglar carry stuff out on her back! The only way she would have stopped them was to lick them to death!! heehee She did keep the squirrels away from my feeders though. Thanks for starting my day with such wonderful memories!...See Moretexanjana
