My fur Baby .......Maxx

Hi all. Here's a pic. of ''our little boy'' puppy . He was smart "understood every word we said>, funny, playful, loved the kids and a wonderful addition to our family. We had him for 20 - wonderful years! We still miss him, soooo much!!!

He's been gone for 2 yrs.,last June. I still, keep his pic.s up all over the house. tina_2

tina_2, it so hard to get over a loss of a furbaby as they are truly a member of the family was we all well know. He sure is cute!

It's hard and it's not like they can be replaced. Each has their own personality. What kind of dog was he? He has the biggest ears I've ever seen on such a little dog. He almost looks like a fox.

Here's our pet rescue dog from last March...I've written about her before...her name is Nellie and she is about 2 yrs. old now...we gave her my Sept b'day because they didn't know for sure...she was given away because she was having pups born last Dec. She is such a good dog and has become a part of our family so quickly! I think she actually "adopted" us...as she loved the kids/grandkids (babies to adults)immediately upon meeting. She is boxer/American Staffordshire Terrier mix...she lives inside with us...loves her cushy bed on the LR floor & also kennels when we leave the house. These pics taken the other day when we walked in the pines...before we got these frigid temps! Got to love having these furrie friends! Jeanne S.

I'm not sure what it is about the robe. It's black silk with polka dots. You can see it in the pic of Molly with her harness on. She only attacks it if I'm wearing it. When I took it off she just laid down next to it and didn't even seem to notice it was there. Very weird. The stapelia is also called a Starfish flower. It has other names as well, carrion flower, because the blooms stink. My little ones really don't smell bad but I bet this big one will. lol

"Actually both of our dogs were on the shelter's "Urgent" list. Meaning they didn't have much time left. I so urge everyone to visit your shelter to adopt a pet." Our dog was a shelter rescue as well. He had been there awhile and not even given a shelter name, and an employee had shared with me that they were considering sending him to a special training program and then not taking him back. Whoa....... I'm assuming because they didn't think he was going to be particularly adoptable and who would want a skinny little Heinz fifty seven like that? Well, being a terrier person myself, I knew he was special as soon as I lay eyes on him. He wasn't skinny......he was at least part Italian greyhound/terrier mix, perhaps full blooded Iggy. This house has been a three-ring circus since he arrived and we get so much joy from his antics. At one year old, he came housebroken, car comfortable, and furniture trained. How lucky can you get?

So sorry for your loss. McKenzie was a beautiful girl -- such a sweet face. You gave her a wonderful life for many years and a loving path across the rainbow bridge. Several years ago when we had to help our old girl across. Fifteen years earlier we had found her starving in the woods and she was around 2 when we rescued her. We did it at the vets, but we were able to pet her and feed her ham and cheese as the pain medicine took effect and she went to sleep. She had been so arthritic that just seeing her body relax like it hadn't in months gave me the peace I needed to know we were doing the right thing. You did too and I hope you find solace in remembering the wonderful life she probably never would have had without you.

Thanks - karmahappytoes, he was a real treasure to us.
Karyn - He was a full blooded Chihuahua. We never got the papers on him cause, my dh grew up & went to school with the family that gave him to us. But , we never cared about all that. He was ''our little boy'' and that was all, that mattered to us. He was so funny - he once chased a big doberman down the street. Guess, he got too close.lol Yes, he was the ''top dog'' around our house! He never hurt a soul, not even other animals. His fierce bark, was big enough to scare anything off!
I don't think, we will ever get another dog. I just can't.
Plus, we are still going through a sort of grieving process. Helping with grandkids, sure keeps us busy. And we ain't a gettin any younger!lol. tina_2

I just lost my Calico that I had adoped--had been abused! I had her for 7 years and she died last week! She was my garden helper, so I understand what you have gone through--I will miss her terriby--probably forever! She died in her favorite spot - by the fish pond! She looked so peaceful like she was sleeping there as she always did-. She is buried right there and I am making a sign to place there as well
