What kind of kitchen sink???

I am thinking of switching out the standard two bowl stainless steel sink for something else during our remodel. We have an extra large sink base (48") and are replacing counter top, so the time is right. I have only ever had a two bowl sink but I find I get irritated by it. The kids invariably dump a plate with something still on it in the mom desposal side and it gets all gooky, the biggest skillets don't fit in the sink well to wash them, etc. I don't do a ton of hand washing but do hand wash skillets and sometimes pans and cookie sheets.

What do do you recommend? One bowl? Two bowl? The split bowl with a smaller side and larger side? What material? What do you love about your sink?
