Advice on sink
Comments (2)We have a Ticor S405D, the model w/two sinks. We've been using it for almost two years now and are still very pleased with it. The large bowl, which I think is comparable to the single bowl in the S405, has been large enough for all our needs...cookie sheets, roasting pans, refrigerator bins, etc. We love the grids that came with it as well. For example, they keep things off the bottom of the sink so pots/dishes do not block the drain holes, when emptying pasta into a colander, the water does not backup into the colander, it's very easy to rinse the sink around dishes, if you care, there's less scratching of the bottom of the sink. The sound deadening works so there's no ringing/loud noise when running water, etc. Not sure what else to tell you!...See MoreNeed advice on sink in kitchen remodel
Comments (14)kathy642- i just put in a blanco diamond 1 1/2 bowl configuration. it is 33x22 and can be under mount or top mount. in this house the builder put in a shallow double bowl ss that i hated and swapped out (years later) for 1 single bowl ss. i said i would never go back to 2 bowls again but kinda fell for the diamond sinks! there is a 1 3/4 version that i think fishymom has. i use the shallow small side for silverware ( i always have dishes in my sink) and the bigger bowl still fits a 9x13 or cookie sheet to soak. my sink might be too big but at the plumbing supply place i saw the single bowl diamond installed and it was really big but had much smaller base requirements. going to the plumbing supply showroom was really helpful since i am a visual person. as an added bonus they were cheaper than HD or lowes....See Moreneed advice about sink at corner
Comments (3)I had a sink tucked up against a corner in my first house. It was a tiny u-shaped kitchen and that setup worked great except for the rather bizarre decision to place the DW on the opposite corner instead of next to the sink. Very hard to load a DW when the door drops down across the front of the sink! Never could understand why they did that when there was plenty of room to the side of the sink. Anyway, the only issue that I had (besides the ridiculous placement of the DW) was that it made it difficult for more than one person to work at the sink. But the kitchen was tiny and really only a one butt kitchen anyway. Otherwise I found the corner counter was a great place to keep the dish rack. Found some pictures for you. Hope they help. Undermount?
Comments (4)I have an undermount Blanco Stellar 28" stainless steel sink, with drain offset to the center rear; this was the largest sink for a 30" cabinet that I found at the time - I wanted the offset drain to maximize the storage space underneath. The product description says it requires a 33" cabinet, but it fits nicely into my 30" cabinet. I have a garbage disposal, and a soap dispenser too. The sink is plenty big enough for cookie sheets (26" interior length!) I am very happy with it. BTW with the offset, center drain/garbage disposal, I have room on one side for a pullout for the trash and recycling (from Rev-a-shelf), and a shallower pullout on the other side (because of piping in the rear of that side, from Target) that holds the compost pail (the small Ikea stainless steel step-open trash can), sponges, cleanser, and so forth. I also added an Ikea Variera pullout- about 5" w 21" d 4" t -- that attached to the side wall of the cabinet, for sundries like an small extension cord, tape, tape measure. Unfortunately I don't think Ikea offers that anymore - but perhaps something similar is out there somewhere....See More- 7 years ago
