I'm very sorry I did not answer the questions from the last few years... I've been out of reno mode for a while :) It's probably too late, but here are the replies: @walkin_yesindeed - the vanity finish has held up just fine. However, it's not the original paint. We sanded and re-painted with new Ben Moore bathroom paint. No issues with dampness (we do run the fan for every shower, though.) @kirkhall - I have NOT been happy with the touted un-stainable-ness of the epoxy grout on the floor. I mean, it's better than regular grout, but it didn't stay white no matter how much I cleaned it. It looks fine, since the tile is multi-toned, but it's definitely not still white. The shower grout, however, has held up extremely well. @SparklingWater - I don't recall the demo being terribly difficult, but that may be because I knew what to expect from other parts of the house. It was tile over a dense cement. @MrsD - I think the grout color is standard white. @MayaEoff - Our tub is the standard 30" size.

We purchased an 8000.00 wesley hall sofa and are not happy with the fabric quality, the fabric stains when utilizing water and soap to remove small stains, Wesley Hall claims this is high performance organic fabric, retailer Timeless Interiors Hamilton Massachusetts stating remove fabric from cushions wash in washing machine and replace back onto cushions, this is a big tedious job my wife did one cushion which came out clean but does nor refit foam cushions properly, sofa also pilting fabric balling up corners edges seat cushions, . we will pay upholstery cleaner 300.00’to come clean, ridiculous since sofa is just one year old, very poor product not happy with wedley hall customer service or our retailer timeless interiors hamilton ma will not purchase products from either of these two vendors

I have had wallpaper in practically every room in my house until about 8 years ago when I did a whole house "face-lift". I will not bore you with the horror stories of removal. Let's just say some rooms got covered with new 1/4" sheetrock. None of my paper was expensive, but most of it was "vinyl coated". Some of it was $10 a roll outlet store paper. It was all WASHABLE. I remember occasionally spraying the kitchen walls with Fantastik or 409 of equivalent type household cleaners - did not harm the paper at all. I even had it for a backsplash behind the kitchen range. I still have 12-13 year old wallpaper in one bathroom (waiting for a total gut job) in a few months. It doesn't even look bad behind the double vanity from years of water splashes and hairspray :). What I meant to say was - it doesn't look worn - it does look "bad" in that it is SO dated (very country). I also still have a "cutesy" blue and yellow Waverly plaid wallpaper in my laundry/mud room on the bottom half with a coordinating floral border that has been up for about 10 years. That room is a TRUE mudroom with all of DH's work boots, hunting gear, etc coming through that room over the years. I still get a "hankering" for wallpaper occasionally now that I can afford some of the nicer stuff - would LOVE to have some Thibaut. But 8 years ago, while cursing, ranting, raving, and shedding a few tears upon removal, I made a vow to myself to never hang another piece of wallpaper.

Wow, Kathy, I think I'm as impressed with your "can do" attitude and common sense as your impressive kitchen redo. Thanks so much for sharing. Love all your color sections, especially the way the fabric in your kitchen window curtain pulls it all together. Before, the kitchen was chaotic, and now your colors are so soothing. Also love the way you rearranged the cabinets to maximize your space and storage. By the way, I know what you mean about measuring as that scares me too when I'm spending real money. I do have two suggestions for when you save up more $$$. The first is that you order full extension drawers, or trays, to go inside the large base cabinet with the double doors on the right side of the range. I ordered from Quikdrawers.com for the cabinets in my dining room and am extremely happy with the company and the result. They make a quality product, the guy who helps you (Keith) knows his stuff, and spacing between the trays is fully adjustable to maximize storage for what works best for you. Those pull outs certainly beat standing on your head and rearranging to see what's in the back. The second suggestion is to add a light rail and led puck lights run by batteries that you can just tap to get them to come on. My daughter-in-law knows a number of her neighbors who have used that approach and that it works pretty well if you don't want to go the electrician route. Those lights should be available at the big box stores or online elsewhere. Again, five stars on your project all the way around. It is well worth all the time, stress, and worry. Also, your low budget is hard to believe.
