Comments (3)If you are doing the slats yourself, you could route channels for the cords to press into them. Or you could do a wider slat that would also hide the cord. Take a look at the EJ Audi / Stickley website for different slat configurations. One other thing that you could do is have a panel painted the wall color inserted behind the slats and let the cords fall where they may....See MoreAre these to large for the kitchen and which do you like better?
Comments (10)Hard to say without knowing the dimensions of the light..but they seem too high(just the lights themselves, without chain and all) for 8 feet ceiling. Diameter will be good..but with height, your max is approximately 23-24 inches(only if the lights go over the table..yours will)..and you also want to allow for a chain that will look proportionately to the light itself..it being a lantern -you can't allow the chain that's too short. PS I like both lights..is one of them glass and one-just a cage? I like the cage, but the glass might be less harsh for the eyes. Or are both of them glass? A bit hard to see, on the pics.....See MoreWhich elevation do you like better?
Comments (53)Many of the new builds in and around the Disney area where we were looking seem to be very contemporary. I don't like it, it's not for me. I wanted the "classic" Florida home even if it is an overdone style. Where it's located, no one will see it but us :) It will be a challenge for me to do the inside, I don't want to end up with it being too theme-y but want to be consistent with the exterior. I googled Addison Mizner after your links and found this house which is lovely, but I feel like the kitchen doesn't fit / was transplanted from a different house. https://www.sothebyshomes.com/palmbeach/sales/0076748 And I normally gravitate towards that white marble/white cabinet look too....See MoreWhich Couch Do You Like Better?
Comments (34)@Betsey J You don't want to buy a sofa just for looks. You need it to be comfortable and last for more than a year or two before it breaks down and looks terrible. I bought a sofa about a year ago. I needed a large sectional or two sofas for a 20'x20' living room. I went to about 10 different higher end furniture stores, sat in sofa after sofa, went to Lazy Boy as well (Good middle of the road sofa, lower price/mid range quality). I checked out the sale items (Most have a back room with floor samples, returns). In one of the stores they had a cream colored sofa that was the exact dimensions that I needed, was a good brand, high performance fabric, comfortable and was knocked down from $8k to $2500 for a 3x2 sectional with 3 recliners. The one I fell in love with and would have been the "perfect" sofa was over $10k. You can get good furniture at a good price or buy cheaply made furniture for the same price. The difference is where you compromise. I compromised on color and style, but have something that will last 10 years and didn't break the bank....See Moresmm5525
