ID for 'unknown' Brug from Spring Swap
Comments (2)I haven't heard anything about a fall swap yet. I'd just stay tuned here on the MN forum and see what happens. I'll be pretty much swamped preparing for "Marigold Days" our local festival On Sept 11,12,13 then usually hope to get some digging/dividing done in the 3 weeks after that. I really do need to divide some daylilies and clumps of bee balm which are 'enthusiastic' growers in my yard. If I don't see anything about a fall swap I'll likely just cover the potted divisions for next year's spring swap which pretty much always happens. the other thing you could do is post the question re a fall swap here on the MN forum and that might start the ball rolling. Mantorville is down by Rochester so that much farther for you and even 'out of range' for most folks around the twin cities or I'd host one myself. If nothing comes up and you really need to divide perennials, let me know and I'll pass your email along to my sister in law. They just (2 years ago) built their dream home on a little lake just outside Duluth and she hasn't gotten around to much landscaping (has a huge organic veg garden which she uses to can their winter supply of veggies). Last thought...did you check the exchanges section of this forum? I never thought of that while rambling on above and that's where the exchange info usually is. Will...See MoreSpanish Hot Pepper from spring swap
Comments (1)Marj, I brought the pepper and am glad it's doing well!. It's a Burpee seed, Burpee #69657 Spanish - Pepper, Hot Chile Verde Hybrid Seed, mildly pungent and matures from green to red according to the seed pack. It's my first year growing it, so I can't tell you much more than that. Most of the peppers I've harvested this year (the few the grasshoppers will spare) have been really hot! I hear they do get hotter in hot, dry weather. I think I'd pick one and try it green before letting them completely mature. I hope they're tasty! Barb...See MoreSalvia Seedling from Spring Swap
Comments (14)I love that Santa Rosa Gardens has that flat shipping rate. One of the problems with on-line vendors is that the shipping is so very high! I ordered plants from Santa Rosa in their end-of-season sale, and the plants were very healthy. They were packaged very well too - my order came in two boxes for that $7.99 flat rate shipping. They are based in Florida, though, not California....See More8/25 JoAnn update
Comments (14)Man, to think of JoAnn in a bad mood is mind boggling. I'm glad she's feeling better except for the leg business. I didn't realize until I read a post today that she's your daughter-in-law. Let me say you have a great son and even greater daughter-in-law. Thanks for keeping us updated on how they are doing. It's a hard time for them and you, too....See MoreDawnInCal
