Do you play online games?

I enjoy some of the oldies but goodies at The Zone.MSN...especially
MahJong Age of Alchemy, Collapse 2, Cubis 2, and all time favorite, the original Text Twist. There are also some games I like at NotOverTheHill. I played at Pogo for years but got burned out on some of the players in Chat so gave it up.

When my DD's tell me I spend too much time playing games on the computer, I say, "Oh well...it keeps me off the streets and out of the bars." ☺

It all depends. We have XBox 360, GameCube, Playstation 2. Also couple older consoles that are never used anymore. XBox 360 right now is the best for graphics, action, etc. especially for teens and older. For those with younger children, GameCube is probably the better choice. However, all of this may change once Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii come out later this year.

I have played this w/ family for years, we called it 10,000, thats what you have to get to win. All you need is 6 dice and a cup to shake and paper to keep score. I saw they sell in the stores now, Farkcle, or something like that. You can have as few as 2 or as many players as you want. Lots of fun. I found the instructions on-line: http://members.aol.com/dicetalk/rules/10000.txto find instrustions o To clarify: You need to decide to keep points or keep rolling. If you make a roll and don't get any (points)Pointers you loose all points. If you get 1,2,3,4,5,6 (in one roll) you get to keep those and roll all the dice again to keep getting points, even if you get nothing on the 2nd roll of all dice.. Ones and fives you can accumulate over a series of rolls. The three of a kind must be done in a single roll. If you have any questions I will try to answer them. There is something I'm forgetting, havn't played for a while.

Lily, I would play with you too! Maybe you can find a source of games in your community. A venue in my area has Game Night once a month, attended by people of all ages. Some of the games look rather intense and seem to require a lot of thought (Pandemic is one), but I've played lighter games there with a friend. If you're close to my age you could probably find games at a local senior center. You could also poll your friends to see if there's any interest. Who knows--some may be silently yearning for a fun game. Fran, I was thinking about bridge recently. I haven't played since the 1960's, but I'd be willing to read up on it and see if I could join a group. However, I remember my husband was not thrilled with my bridge playing. He was a serious duplicate bridge player, and I like to chat while I play. Chances are the local groups would feel the same way my husband did about my playing style. LOL Foggy, I looked up Telestrations, and it sounds like great fun. But I wonder if the two artists in my group would spoil some of the fun. They are very good. Playing Cranium on my team recently, one of them had to draw a saddle with her eyes closed. It was perfect. Socks, thanks for the tip about Hoot Owl Hoot and Peaceable games!

I worked for several years at a small game company that specialized in online games, even then when the games were free for me, and access to them was free, I had not much interest in playing online with other random people. I have played team-based LAN games with friends, and a free online version of Dominion (a deck-building game that my family was into) but other than that nothing.

I play a daily crossword, candy crush and words with friends. I use to play on Pogo too, but tired of it.

I play several at the Washington Post site. Daily Crossword, Lost Island, Letter Garden and sometimes Backgammon against the computer, not other players. Oh and Fishdom...a lot....

I actually play Backgammon and Text Twist on Roku. Text Twist was just introduced a few weeks ago. If you get the 6 or 7 letter word, it allows you to keep going without having to endure a commercial break. I'm so sick of the Directv and White Castle commercials!

I play MongJong on my ipad and card games. I also do jig saw puzzles.

Is there a site where you can play cards against other real people not bots? I love to play pinochle but yahoo quit it Otherwise I play bubble shooter,euchre, candy crush, mahjong. drench and train when it is in the station..

I play online slot machines and now have 16 million dollars in my account. If only they were real dollars!

I also play solitaire and free cell, bit it's been a while since I've played either game.

Check out PlayOK 100% free multiplayer games. They have Pinochle and other popular games for multiplayers.

I think Pogo has it, too, but you have to be a paid club member to participate. I'm all for the freebie websites. :-)

I usually play Steam games, when the rest of the family doesn't want to play. Talisman, FTL: Faster than Light, puzzles, Age of Wonders III, etc. I play AI, not against other players, even though many games have that option. I also play Catan (beta).

No, I have never played online games. Probably my internet would be too slow if I even took a notion to try. Really does not interest me, but glad others do enjoy it.

I play solitaire against the clock. I allow myself a total of five minutes to play five games. I have to make decisions and moves very quickly. I do that early in the day to get the brain going.

I play Scrabble and Words With Friends on my computer (both via Facebook), and once a day I play One-Clue Crossword on my tablet. With Scrabble, I play against the same friend I play with every week at the library; with Words With Friends I play with a couple of long-time online friends plus two people I didn't know who requested games over a year ago. One of them is in Australia. I stopped accepting random requests last year when a guy got too attached. I was glad the games are relatively anonymous.

I have played a lot of card games. They were much better on my Mac than on my Chromebook -- downloaded new ones. Still play once in a while, but not nearly as much as I used to.

I do a daily cryptic crossword with my morning coffee. The constructors are English, so I have had to learn some of the “tricks” of English cryptics (like when the clue mentions the Queen, they mean the letters ER, for Elizabeth Regina, will appear in the answer). and am learning terms about cricket!

Only online game I played was 'Bookworm' -- I loved it, but no longer available as far as I can see. I really miss it. My young grandchildren liked to watch me play, anticipating the bookworm gobbling up the words...

For a long time I played spider solitare with 8 decks of cards. I usually won in under 9 minutes so I got bored with it and quit. I like word text sometimes.
