Nope, I will not pay to play.
I also do not play any games on facebook (privacy issues).

I have found, some of the Yahoo games can be found other places, still free. Text twist being one. Text Twist kept shutting down on Yahoo and so I just found a new place.

I play a few games but not facebook just quick games some of the text games and a couple of the puzzle games...

There are some things I would pay for, but not games. I paid to participate on GW for one year during Spike's time. $15. I was remodeling my kitchen at the time and the advice I got was invaluable.

There must be a fair number of people who do pay to play or they would not charge. I play a silly game called Solitaire Blitz (it's like Solitaire). You can only reach a certain level without paying to go on. I just stopped playing.

Another game charges you for extra moves, which are optional. However, it seems to me that you cannot win without the extra moves, so I guess I have gotten as far as I am going to get.

I forgot about Yahoo games. I'll have to look there.

No and definitely not anything on facebook since I don't do facebook.
I do have some of the free apps on my tablets that I play on occasion, mostly word games and solitaire or mahjong , I try a new one from time to time to see if I like it if not I just delete it. I would not pay.

No. I would never pay to play games. I play the games that came on my computer....Spider Solitaire, Free Cell and Mahjong. I wouldn't pay to play anything. I am on FB, but I don't play games and despite saying so....I still get requests every day. Good grief. :(

I have paid for SOME game apps...usually the 99 cent ones...but not any that you "pay to play" or where you have"in app" purchases. I usually find I prefer the ones without ads which is why I pay the initial 99 cents.

I haven't found any online games that I'd pay to play. I have purchased games for the computer before, Titanic, Monopoly and a couple others. But to play online, I don't think so. I don't like paying for software either but there's some that are worthwhile. I'll probably buy the Iobit Advanced SystemCare because it's a great program and the free version is limited in some respects. Most others are just fine on the freebie.

I play a few games on facebook, but I would never pay. We pay enough for having the internet. I just play til I can't go any further, then quit and start a new game.

I play these games on Facebook. You do not have to pay to play. You can challenge some of you friends if you want but I like to just play them by myself.

I really miss a little idle conversation with real people standing next to me in the real world -- impossible because they are all glued to some screens. How do you ever meet new friends if you're never *present*?

I play the games whenever I am sitting around on the sofa, like right now. I go out with friends a lot, do volunteer work and spend time with the family. These games are just bubble gum for the brain, although I do think some if them are brain exercises, too, such as Words with Friends (provided you don't cheat!) and Qwiz Show.

I don't see the harm in them, until you start paying. I will check out Mindjolt.

No I wouldn't pay to play games on the computer. Even the train game. I enjoy it when it is free, but I tire of things really easily. If I play some games too long I see them behind my eyelids when I am trying to go to sleep at night. I think it works on my mind.

My mother told me once that she never learned how to crochet from her mother. The reason was that DGM went to the doctor and the doctor told her she had to quit crocheting because it was working on her mind. This would have been in the days of kerosene lamps, thus not very good light. I think the same thing happened to her as it does to me.

I do play yahoo pinochle and euchre. Right now I am doing jigsaw puzzles on shockwave, but I can't do it for very long or I see the pieces when I want to go to sleep. I also do the shanghai dynasty that someone mentioned on here and I like that. Also spider solitaire and majong titans. So I admit I love games but I would never pay for them.

I don't play any internet games and I don't do facebook, so I guess I'm a recluse. I don't need any more excuses not to do all the cleaning and organizing I said I was going to do when I retired.

I don't pay to play because it is not in my budget but there is nothing wrong with paying. If this is your entertainment why not. Some people go to the cinema, some rent movies, buy or rent video games. Some people can't get out of the house to do these things. If you play some of the FB games run by Zynga you can buy game gift cards at department or drug stores in various denominations. I have bought one or two for my brother for Christmas.

bengardening -- I have the same overactive mind that you posted about when I spend too munch time reading or watching a DVD. I know I've overdone it when themes from a book or movie won't stop running through my mind when I'm trying to sleep. This is new, and I think it's age-related. I have always 'taken in the world' more through my eyes than through my ears.

Chisue thank you for telling me you have the same problem. Yes it is with books too and I don't watch very many movies so I don't know about that. I think i have had this as long as I remember and I an 61 years old now. So I am not sure if it is age related, but maybe with some it is
I always say I woulld never be able to work in a factory or someplace where I would be doing something very repetitive because I would never get any sleep. It even does it when I do counted cross stitich too long.

I play Words with Friends and Scrabble on Facebook...but I would never pay a cent for a game....I also play on www.games,com. (scrabble) ...I usually play with friends and relatives on Facebook...
