Two head shower installation

I haven't talked to our plumber yet; I just wanted to know if anyone has seen anything like this before I ask him to do it.

Like the picture below, except the two shower heads placed one under the other, and no hand held head.

Dh is tall and I am short. Our build is going to have a shower head at 6'7". I'm afraid that will either hit me on the top of the head or right in the face and wondered if it wouldn't be better to have a separate shower head for me, with a single water control knob, but another knob to divert from one head to the other.

Is that possible?

It is possible, but why not just use a hand held with two mounting brackets set at the desired heights for each of you?

That was what I was going to use at first, but one on a bar so the head could be locked into place and free both hands. But I changed my mind because hand helds always seem to be pointing downward and most of the reviews I read said they don't stay in place (the head) after changing the angle.

One valve and a diverter means that you can only have water from one shower head. A diverter is what you have with a bath tub / shower where you choose to have the water at the tub spout or shower head. I believe this would be the lower cost option. With two valves you can have water from both shower heads simultaneously. But then, you would have to adjust the temperature of each. How do you intend to use the two shower heads?

Thank you mrs pete and lake view girl. It may be too late to change the design, mrs pete, but I'll pull the plans out tomorrow and take a look at them. I think we already have a built in designed for that area. I think a mobile bench might be the way to go. The shower will be curbless with a linear drain on the long side of the shower, away from the bathroom. I am now thinking I will just have to give up and do a complete glass enclosure. I so badly dont want to. I hate having to worry about cleaning the glass. But there will be 8" of space between the glass partition and the vanity. Now there is another problem...I wanted a small window at the top of the shower but putting the shower head at 7 ft. May mean this isnt possible? There would be great views of the mtn. From there.

I could just get a handheld on the sliding bar but would like a longer hose to reach across the stall to the bench ( longer than the standard 60 " ) Does the magnet on the waterpick hold well on the sliding bar ? I notice that Moen has the Engage Magnetix Hand Held Shower Head as well. Does anyone has experience with it?

For two shower heads and this configuration, you'll need to put a full wall next to the toilet so you can have the shower heads across from each other. The only area that closes in is the toilet, so I think it's fine. You'll still have the long side of the shower as glass, with the window providing light to the vanity, shower, and tub where you need it.

Good quality shower heads don't move when installed. I have the Hansgrohe and Grohe units on the sliding shower bar and once set, they don't move at all. The shower heads are also very large so they cover a lot of area. Two shower heads as you describe would not be a good choice. If you want two shower heads, I would pick a hand shower and a rain head so you have two different functions.
