What valves are needed for two shower heads?
Comments (5)One valve and a diverter means that you can only have water from one shower head. A diverter is what you have with a bath tub / shower where you choose to have the water at the tub spout or shower head. I believe this would be the lower cost option. With two valves you can have water from both shower heads simultaneously. But then, you would have to adjust the temperature of each. Comments (0)We're remodeling our bathroom and will be installing 2 separate shower heads - one fixed rainhead and one handheld. We'd like the option of having just the rain, just the handheld or both at the same time. I know we can get two separate valves and trim kits, but is there a single control unit that could do this? One valve, one trim and a diverter? If so, please direct me to a specific brand and model, as I can't tell from the descriptions given online. Comments (7)A shower bench is a no brainer. The shower bench makes using the shower more enjoyable and does add to any romantic encounters you may have. If you have a wife like mine you better add two shower heads because mine steals all the water. I have a collection of shower bench photos that I show my clients to help pick a style. The shower bench detail can affect the placement of the drain so its wise to plan the build completely before picking or roughing in the drain. Comments (8)So much wrong. Why do people give advice about things they aren't familiar with. This valve can supply up to 10 gpm per port. With 1 or 2 simultaneous ports the valve can supply the maximum of 10 gpm to each. If running more than 2 ports the formula is 21/X. So with three ports it's 7 gpm each (21/3=7). This is straight from Kohler. At 4 gpm one line will be fine and it would be fine even if I was running five ports simultaneously (21/5=4.2). Assuming 70% hot water, my 85 gallon water heater can keep this shower head pumping for 30 minutes which is much longer than I'd ever need it. So back to my question. I'm going to split one of the valves into 2 or 4 lines (depending on which shower head I buy) to feed the shower head and that will easily supply enough water. The question is if the 4 inlet version of the shower head has has an inherent performance advantage or if the performance of both can be expected to be the same....See Morerockybird
