Thanks much and beautiful showers! I am confused about the thermostatic valve. Is this something that I can buy separate and have it installed in the wall so that anytime I change out the shower handle/trim/valve it will automatically be there and still be accessible if it breaks and I need to change it? I hate to have more moving parts and things to break inside the walls. Problem is, I have chosen champagne bronze and if I need to get the thermostatic control valve built in I think that will be hard. I'm already having a hard time finding a handheld and shower head built into the same. I might have to get a separate handheld to divert water or I'm back to the initial question of do I just push the shower head over to shoot towards the wall before I turn on the H20 or go back to the idea of moving the control valve? My guess would be a tile installer, but I think that type of shower pan construction is a long gone skill. There are so many better products available now that I can't imagine someone using hot asphalt and roofing paper to build a shower pan. Bruce

Hi Joseph, I posted picture of where they put the hook up for the water. The attachment for the rain shower head is meant to be horizontal, on the wall above the shower lever. So instead of buying a new shower set up, or smashing up the tile to fix this, can i get a new arm that will allow for the shower head to dangle from the ceiling instead of the wall? Hope that makes sense now

I found the specs on the company website for this product** At Floor and Decor, the specs for this prodcut read *** FOR FLOOR ONLY*** I've never, in 30+ years, have ever seen anyone in the industry use this for a shower wall. Cement board or Durock, is about the same price, and only 10% heavier than the Fiberock. as for the breakage on the pencil liners, yes it can happen w/marble. normally a very good, sharp blade can overcome this. this is what you want on the walls. all seams , screw holes, corner joints, niches joints, should be taped and mortarted. then the membrane gets painted on. (or a vapor barrier goes behind it. one or the other) do you knwo what green stuff was used?
