Miele DW's Why Can't You Open the Door Mid Cycle?
Comments (6)I think Jerrod was referring to a lighted indicator on the top-of-the-line model that which comes on, or perhaps goes off, once the main wash portion of a program is finished. You wouldn't want to add items to the dishwasher at that point because it might contaminate rinse water. The lighted indicator is simply a convenience feature. It doesn't prevent you from opening the machine. In fact, its very presence would seem to indicate that opening the door to add errant items is okay....See MoreMiele Dishwasher owners: do you still use rinse aid with tabs?
Comments (11)No gel but all in one tabs are ok as long as the setting is on tab for a tab cycle. What I do (and I checked with them, they said ok) is to change off the tab setting and just still use a half-tab when I use express. I use the Miele tabs which are crumbly anyway and they work just fine. I've got some rinse aid in there so if a load gets a double dose of that I figure what the heck. The dishes come out clean and dry. I'm a bit of a dw nerd but not 2 kinds of detergent crazy. I get the Miele tabs from vacuum-express and almost never use a whole one so they go twice as far. I'm sure there's a more economical approach but 0 issues with anything since I switched to those and great results, so if it ain't broke.......See MoreMiele 1/2 tabs not cleaning as well as they had been?
Comments (63)Following. I just purchased another Miele today. My 2002 Miele is having trouble pumping water out and restarting over and over isn't in my game plan. You may have noticed from other posts that I was debating whether I wanted another Miele. After careful consideration, I decided that another MIELE was the way to go. Especially since they're offering a free 5 yr extended warranty through Nov. 30th. Since someone here recommended the MIELE tabs, I've used 1/2 tab. Previously I used 1 tablespoon of Cascade powder (old formula). Early on a MIELE service tech told me not to believe the suggested amount of detergent and 1 tablespoon was appropriate. I have never had a problem with cleaning nor had any build up on the walls of the machine. I hope that the new MIELE concierge service will install the machine properly and get my salt levels correct. It's my assumption that the initial machine installers were poorly trained and never set things up correctly. My MIELE tabs are cut and stored in an open box under the kitchen sink. I have never had an issue with dampness or diminished cleaning ability....See MoreDoor is loose on my Miele W1986 washer...
Comments (19)> Increase the time which water circulates through the detergent dispenser. This is supposed to be for "big box" detergent. (whatever that means) I think they're referring to the (now hard to find) non-concentrated powdered detergent where you needed a full 8 ounce cup per load, which by necessity was packaged in larger boxes rather than the squat boxes typical for today's more highly-concentrated detergents. My last detergent purchase actually was a large box, but only because it was one of those 200-load Sears large boxes, and it needs only a 50cc cup per load....See Moreaamassther
