@Horizon Interior Shutters - my husband doesn't mind exterior (or interior, for that matter) shutters at all but they have to be historically correct to the building. That was his job for over 30 years and he still does consults, lol, I think some people call him out just to enjoy the erm, fireworks. He is especially unhappy when on the rare occasion someone has installed non-functionals. The look may be correct but if those shutters don't function as the originals would have he foams at the mouth.

He'd go mad in the US, lol, with all the non-functional exterior shutters. But most US homes would look unfinished without them! Growing up out West on a cattle ranch we didn't have that kind of trim but when we'd go into town I would look at the houses and think they were quite handsome.

As an adult I lived primarily in harsh weather environments (blizzards in Alaska, hurricanes in the Deep South, Gulf Coast) and used to wish for functional shutters instead of the rather pricy roll-down metal ones we had, but really, our homes especially in the south would have looked 'neked' without those fab fakes!

I wish you many sales to happy US homeowners:)
