grape vine shock? overwater? underwater?
Comments (5)What type of soil do you have? If it drains resonably well, then it is probably not too much watering. Where did you get the vines? If they were indoors or in a greenhouse or under shade cloth, then they are probably sun-burned. They should be hardened off before planting in full sun. The lower, older, leaves probably were never exposed to intense sunlight, and are more sensitive than the newer growth. As long as your soil is not heavy clay, I would recommend you keep watering them every 2 or 3 days, apply some mulch, and give them time to see how the new growth looks....See MoreHELP! Comments (4)This is THE WORST time of year you could possibly have picked to plant a new tree!!! As for watering, check the soil's moisture level with you finger. Check for moisture both outside AND inside the rootball (assuming you didn't plant it bare-root). Be sure the soil at about 2" to 3" remains moist, but not wet. 30 minutes per day does sound like possibly too much water, BUT it depends on the water flow rate, your soil conditions, your weather, etc. Anyone that tells you how often/how much to water either doesn't know what they are talking about or are very familiar with you planting site's conditions. Hopefully the nursery falls into that last category. The bottom line is that you need to check your soil's moisture level to determine how often and how much to water....See MoreTomatoes stressing out, maybe im overwatering/underwatering?

Comments (10)I believe I suggested how to determine when to water...tip is in my last post before this one... It is usually good practice not to put new plant under strong light immediately, unless one knows what were light conditions before, exactly. Plant was in the mail for a while - in a dark box. It helps it to recover if introduced to good light gradually. It shouldn't die otherwise, but may take longer to recover = plant has to get adjusted to too many new conditions at the same time. It doesn't have to take long time, couple of days may be enough. As Mike said, water more often when warm and in good light, but make sure mix has chance to dry up between watering. Overwatered plants have usually leaves plumped-up with water, could start getting yellowish-watery color ans get limp. If thirsty, leaves usually start wrinkling, curling and eventually drying up. They may get floppy too, but are not soft as water-logged leaves would be....See MoreKara 9b SF Bay Area CA
