Comments (8)I would not do any of those. You can get an 'Invisible Fence' that includes a wire that is buried around the perimeter of the yard, or a portion of it, and a collar worn by the pooch. The collar gives the dog an uncomfortable but harmless shock when he/she gets too near the established boundary. You can also rig a zip line that has a leash hanging from it. Then, too, a professional trainer could probably condition the dog to where neither is necessary, though be advised, training the owner is usually more involved than training the animal....See Morecurb appeal....gated driveway/fence on corner help!
Comments (19)As you pull in the drive, the gate and fence should be one flat straight line in your view connecting to the side fences. That means a triangle corner of your land will be outside the gate and fence. Do a more decorative fence on that entire front line of the gate fencing that converts to the other fencing where they meet. Preferably the access for the shared well would be outside your gate and fence. If they need to get inside your fence, what is the point of a second gate? Not knowing where or how access to the shared well works, it is hard to say how a second gate might work....See MoreHelp! what colour driveway gate ?White or Black? and fence
Comments (17)It’s the norm here to put up property gates and fencing. I live in British Columbia. Canada. The fence is another issue…. The style of fence is the big topic of discussion at home. The house would not be hidden from view if we put a solid 4-5ft fence as the road is higher than the house. We also have a 6ft deep ditch in front of the property where the grass is you can’t see it for the pic....See MoreGate Position on a Sloped Driveway
Comments (29)"I’m more concerned about deer than burglars" FWIW, my Minnesota friends, whose property backs up a a forested area, had their garden plantings decimated for years by deer. They finally put in motion-sensor sprinkler heads on their sprinkler system, and voila! Everything started to grow because the deer got scared (sprayed) away. This, of course, required a sprinkler system which has its own challenges, but you might want to weigh the cost difference between something motion-sensored and a very high fence....See Moredazureus
