I like the contemporary feel with real wood edging of the Ekestad doors/drawers. They take a simple pull.

I agree that you are putting in a very busy floor, so keep your cabinets, counters, and backsplash less busy - even plain.

Wall paint - you might want to consider something with a bit of color instead of a generic offwhite. Since you've already bought the paint (that was a bit premature, btw), you will probably have to add some color with accessories - but not too many accessories b/c the Kitchen is so small.

Do you think the flooring and the chimney go together? (I can't tell from the pictures.)

May I suggest you switch the narrow cabinet b/w the sink and range with the wider drawer bank that's currently to the right of the sink?

You have virtually no workspace b/w the range and sink and that would be a deal-breaker for many people, me included -- or, I'd lower my offer b/c I would have to remodel the Kitchen immediately.

Where is the dishwasher? If there isn't any and you live in the USA, then I suspect that would also be a deal-breaker for many, if not most, people.

@buehl The dishwasher is hidden at the end to the right of the sink. I just switched the counter space looks much better and practical. The flooring I can always return. I haven't actually picked it up yet from the store (homedepot). The paint was def a premature move! I'm SMH. You think I can work with the Drift of mist and get a not so busy flooring?

Ikea has a great concrete look laminate counter that is fairly new but very popular here. Maybe do a search for threads about it.

It depends on the style of house and who you think might want to buy it.

The white Shaker is super popular; however, I recently looked at a 800K townhome that had used the Tingsryd doors (second most inexpensive) and everybody was drooling over them.

This is a 85k - 89k home in a decent area where home sell for 75-120k. The Tingsryd doors would also look nice.

love the floor..keep it..no you don't have to stick to white cabinets . Best thing for super small kitchens is keep the same tones throughout....too many breaks from light to dark or contrast make it appear smaller. I'd do the beech-wood or oak type cabinets and wood look counters whether formica or butcher block. It'll be great-love the earthy feel of the floor. Keep the tone similar between -floor-cabinet-counter-backsplash.

I really like your paint color. The problem with your floor, even though I like it, is the resale factor. Not everyone will like such a strong statement especially with the exposed chimney. A general rule is one "star" to a kitchen, and your chimney is already making the claim as the "star." I would let that shine and pick something more neutral for the floor that has a better chance of appealing to more buyers.

Yeah I was attracted to the flooring as well but I do have to think about the resale of the home. I think I will do the grey with a mix of white type of tile. Keep It simple yet modern and stylish but not too much. I have to sand the chimney cause it has mortar on it from when I peeled the sheet rock.

I agree - love the floor but I think I would go with something simpler. I would look at different countertops, too. I know people (like someone above) always say that keeping things a darker single color makes a small space look bigger, but that's never my experience! I always think an all white space looks the biggest! So I'd do the white shaker cabs with maybe a white countertop and backsplash. We've purchased the pure white quartz from ikea, as well as the pure white acrylic (corian) and both look great and modern. If you think this house might appeal to some artsy hipster types, I also like the Marsta door which channels a midcentury vibe. It is on supersale right now. The space is small so I'd bring in interest with hardware and a lighting fixture.

I don't know what tile was used in that picture of the Tingsryid kitchen above. It could also be a wood floor/laminate.

Costco had a tile, Urban Groove, in my warehouse recently. 1.50 sqft.

Ikea has a new front- VOXTORP drawer front

walnut effect- that doesn't need hardware, it has a dip for the pull. That might make your lines less busy and you could use their quarts concrete effect top that is light grey. They are having a huge sale starting the begining of the month too! I was there yesterday scoping it all out.

Voxtorp is lovely but definitely expensive. My IKEA recently was selling the Ringhult for 30% off.

I think you need to figure out what is desirable in your market, i..e. Shaker or a more modern flat front.

Also, I highly recommend looking at what's in homes slightly above your price point. Let's say, it's granite or quartz. That would be the thing to put in to elevate your home. In my area, laminate, no matter how cool, is out. Ditto granite is going that way. Stainless steel is still considered desirable, especially in the lower price range.

It looks unfinished to me with the white; I would add the side panels.

Add the sides. Looks like you cut corners if you don't.

Yeah, for that look to work you need to wrap the cabinets (add white all the way round). Just adding the gray cover panels would be the easiest and cheapest solution to get you to a well-finished look.

BTW, I think bodbyn is definitely the sweet spot for ikea pricing, so you made a good choice there.
