Purple patch at base of trunk of Pachira (money tree)

Tim

Ive had a Pachira (money tree) for about a month now. It's placed right next to a sliding door which opens onto a balcony, which I usually have open for a few hours in the evenings. I give it about a litre of water once a week. Everything about it looks healthy (leaves green and not drooping), but this morning I noticed a purple patch at the base of the trunk where it enters the soil. I'm not sure if it was like this before. Should I be concerned?
