Comments (19)Camps, if you sat and looked at my fb page, you would see posts from relatives, school friends, dog forum friends, photographer friends and then the "info and ads" I follow a lot of garden companies, writes and botanical gardens. I enjoy admiring what they are doing even if it is something I can't grow or read. Plus the local and travel updates are interesting. There are a lot of companies that advertise, but I choose to either look or skip. I tend to post only generic or less personal things. I skip the political/religious stuff-kind of hard since I went to church school...lol I enjoy connecting with my friends and seeing what they are up too. No drunken party photos on my pages, cause if that is how that person lives, we have different lifestyles and that is not what I want to see. I also "hid" several people that are in to personal dramas-I deal with way too much of that at work so not about to add that in for fun. Like I said, you can use it as a tool and decide how you want to work with it...See MoreNew: Lily Society Facebook page for WI and IL set up
Comments (3)Ken: Lily was my aunt. She was so sociable, she had a whole Society named for her (and I really did have an aunt named Lily...at is more, she was an avid gardener). I'm fine: busy sending out art fair applications. Bellarosa: Welcome back! Woody is still president. Maybe because no one else has stepped forward! :) I will be posting future events on the FB page, including the bulb sale. This year there will be some satellite bulb sale locations, which is really exciting....See MoreHow to find Facebook Local Sales page?
Comments (17)It seems like you need to know what something is called to find it - I tried Local Sales Barkhamsted and got nothing. You found Buy Sell Trade Barkhamsted? So I should try Community News Barkhamsted? (and other nearby towns) I did post on the local Historical Society page that we'll be at the next Barn Dance with samples of old-fashioned preserves, the Society liked my photo and put it in their album so I emailed the VP (a neighbor who calls each year to ask for donations) and asked her to "like" my page, not just the photo, if possible. I haven't heard back from the soup kitchen since I replied to their email thanking me for donations. Is it too pushy to ask for FB likes? What about being listed as a sponsor on their website (I don't know if they have a minimum $ amount to be listed, can ask but the town farm is one, they don't make $ donations and they are chartered to provide a certain % of their harvest to charity but they are still listed.) I won't be Boosting my page since I found it's $5/day to reach about 14 people, minimum 7 days!...See MoreKT Facebook page
Comments (18)To make my point clearer. You can google my username and find my public posts. No problem. Your not going to find out 1 thing about Linda H. I googled a member's name and location and found out how old she was because it was mentioned in an article about her DUI auto wreck. I also found out she was in divorce proceedings. Of course, if you're alright with other KT members (and all the "friends" who have access) googling your name and location, so be it. Of course, I think this problem applies to all of Facebook....See More- 7 years ago
