I don't even know how to find the KT facebook group page?

There is a thread there where everyone posts what username they are known as here.

I am surprised that the link shows people's names and faces.
I thought closed groups kept that out of view to those not in the group....

They are a closed group. Invitation only, I assume.

A closed group means only members of the group can see posts. Everyone can see who the members are, just not what they post.

If you send a request to join the group, it will be acted on quickly. I just did it and was promptly added.

I guess I did not expect members' names ans photos to be there, along with access to their pages with just a click....

I joined Facebook for a bit, but closed my account after I saw all the personal info posted everywhere. Creepy.

I don' t think it matters, and I don't think it is creepy. Google your own gardenweb name and the word gardenweb and you will be able to get all of your own posts.

All of our information is already out there. Buy something online, have your digital pics done online, get a parking ticket, file your taxes, have your name appear in any newspaper for any reason, your name will turn up in a search. If you want more than cursory information about a person, all you have to do is pay for it.

People who know how to search, and are willing to pay for it, can find almost anything. It is just how it is.

At Facebook, I was a "friend" of someone who posts here.
At her page, I was able to see everyone's real name and where they lived. I also read things that I don't think were
meant for general reading. That's too personal for me.
You can google my KT username all you want, but you won't find my real name.

To make my point clearer. You can google my username and find my public posts. No problem. Your not going to find out 1 thing about Linda H.
I googled a member's name and location and found out how old she was because it was mentioned in an article about her
DUI auto wreck. I also found out she was in divorce proceedings.
Of course, if you're alright with other KT members (and all the "friends" who have access) googling your name and location, so be it.
Of course, I think this problem applies to all of Facebook.

You can change your FB settings so very little information is visible to those that are not your friends. There are some people who don't know that and you can see pictures and their wall posts.

Those of us with unusual names are cursed with forever being out there on the WWW. Nothing we can do about it, except lie low and hope nothing's written about us! :)

That was my point. Even though that is a closed group, I can access pages and get all sorts of info... and I am not in that group!

Not anymore, The group is now "secret". Seems silly to me. In this electronic age, your info is out there, however you might like to think it is not.

i couldn't get the link to open after i c & p'd it into the address. so, i am right back at square one.

I BELONG TO THE GROUP it just went to a secret group about last week i love it there i belong to many groups on facebook and i have made a page for my girls and i i called it Our Family we post things we dont want to talk about on facebookS its a closed group of 3
