Rose Pruning Workshop and Work Day at Florida Southern College

We will be holding the annual pruning workshop in Ruth's Rose Garden, on the north side of the FSC campus, Saturday, February 11, starting at 9:00. The project has two goals: 1. It will provide hands-on training on how to prune the various classes of old roses, in a warm climate, and 2. It will be a day for volunteers to help with the big task of pruning that 300-plants garden (therefore well-experienced rose pruners are also cordially invited!)

The public is invited; no RSVP is necessary. We prefer that you use our tools, but if you really want to use your own pruners, please let us disinfect them first.

I hope many of you will plan to join us for a day of fun, fellowship, and useful work to beautify one of Florida's largest rose gardens.

The campus is in Lakeland Florida, on the north shore of Lake Hollingsworth. The best way to find it with Google Maps would be to head for 864 Frank Lloyd Wright Way, Lakeland. That's a residential address, but the garden is just across the parking lot, on the south side of the street, from there. The grass lot adjacent to the garden should be open for volunteers' cars that morning.

Please join us!
