Pruning Day at Florida Southern College

Florida Southern College will hold its annual pruning day of Ruth's Rose Garden on Saturday, February 22, to include a workshop on pruning by Stephen Scanniello and Malcolm Manners. We'll start at 9:00 a.m. and go until finished or tired! We can provide tools. Everyone is invited -- we appreciate the help in getting that garden pruned, and it's a great opportunity to meet other rose growers in the area, as well as to get some pointers on good pruning technique, if you're a novice.

Then on Sunday the 23rd, the Central Florida Heritage Rose Society will hold their monthly meeting at 2:30 p.m., in the Athletics Conference Room of the Jenkins Field House, on the FSC campus. There, Stephen Scanniello will be talking about training and pruning climbing roses. Again, all are welcome. There will also be a rose plant sale after that meeting, of varieties we grow in the FSC gardens, mostly grafted to 'Fortuniana' roots.

We hope to see some of you who are within traveling distance, for the weekend.

Malcolm
