Has Anna checked her basement bulbs? ( or anyone else?)
Comments (19)My smaller bulbs that aren't gaining in size will be the first to go outdoors, but certainly not the last! Most of my hybrids will join them. I'll keep the more valuable bulbs under lights. I do have quite a few hybrids, so if I were to lose one or two to some unforeseen catastrophe, it wouldn't be the end of the world. I'm hoping I can find some sort of mosquito netting... I think that if I draped them all with netting, the chances of getting attacked by Narcissus Bulb Fly will lessen considerably. I'm not really certain that's even a problem here, but why invite trouble? I've got a pile of cinder blocks, another pile of available plywood and boards of various lengths and widths... I should be able to put together nicely serviceable benches for the pots to sit on. Now, if I can only find the energy necessary to lug about 40 pots down a flight of stairs, through two sets of doors, and out to the benches! I keep going back and forth about taking my bulbs outside... I'm rather paranoid about bulb fly damage... especially after seeing those photos that were posted! Those are ugly bug pupae! Today is a lovely day! The sun is shining, the snow is rapidly melting, and the breeze is mild... chilly still, but much milder than a few days ago! Hurry spring, hurry! Some of my own bulbs have offsets, so I can help replace lost bulbs, too... it's so generous to offer your extras as replacements, thank you! Let's see how the seasons unfold... maybe there won't be any problems, at all!...See MoreHas anybody else ever had this to happen?
Comments (59)This happened to me years ago and although it’s an old thread, I wanted to comment in case it help anyone. I experienced the same symptoms as most on this thread- I went to see all kinds of specialists but when I finally went to my general doctor, he fixed me. Literally made a difference in 15 min. He is a general practitioner but also certified to do manipulations which is different than a chiropractor. He did tests to see if I may have MS or carpel tunnel. But those target specific fingers. He then made me stand up and checked my back. BOOM! I had three ribs out of place. Finally after 6+ months of my right hand tingling and bruising, I had an answer. Dislocated ribs sometimes don’t cause pain BUT if they pinch the right nerve, it can cause all the symptoms to your arm and fingers. Popped blood vessels etc. he adjusted me (again, different from a chiropractor) and within 15 min I felt relief in my arm hand and fingers. Now, anytime I feel tingling, I go see him and sure enough, my rib is out. People can displace ribs with a sneeze. Sometimes it causes pain and other times you can’t even tell. A miracle for me....See MoreInsomnia - may be putting in an offer (!!???!!!)
Comments (32)It sounds to me as though you might be in Troutdale? If so, the winds we have had in the past month should tell you all you need to know about living in the area. I live in Clackamas. We bought a single level home. It has the spa tub in the master bathroom. We never use it. We had french doors put in in the MB and a hot tub right outside of it. We use it all of the time. Most (not all) people really don't use the spa tubs much. I have lived within blocks of a middle school in both of my houses and the noise and school buses have never been a problem. I wouldn't even consider it an issue. I bought my house rather quickly because I knew my old house was going to sell that weekend and I needed to have a new place to live. I wasn't in love with my house. I didn't like everything about it and I was a little concerned about living in the suburbs. Now after almost 5 years I am so glad I have the house I have. It is perfect for me and my husband. Good luck with your new house. I think you will be very happy....See MoreJackson & Perkins is horrible, horrible, stay away!
Comments (25)Very sorry this happened to you , braverichard. I read over J&P warranty, I did not see anything being required to buy in within their stated hardiness zone for the guarantee to remain in tact. If that's their policy, they should state it, and be prepared lose most of their tree rose sales to those not in zone 7-10. I also notice that good customer service companies have some form of escalation for valid reasons that fall outside of their warranty...I recently received refunds from both Amazon and Uber for situations that fell outside their warranty, because they made sense. Wayside, J&P and esp Park seed brought me much happiness when I was a kid. It's sad to see them in decline, their offerings are not that competitive in today's world, their reviews are bad, I would guess they're not exactly profitable, either....See More- 9 years ago
