Ugh..new to gardening and transplant question
Comments (5)Well, first off, my disclaimer:) I am no expert, but I do have some personal experience with this. Are these plants something you can dig right before the work? I mean like the same day? I'm not sure how long it will take to get the dirt hauled in and leveled out, but if it is only going to be a few days, I've heard that bareroot daylilies can withstand being out of the ground for up to five days without killing them. They may just not thrive this year. I once couldn't plant some that I got in the middle of the summer, so I put them in water where they stayed for three days and they did fine. Now I've heard that that's not the best way to do it, and I have even left some bare root ones sit in the shade for two days. I'm sure that when ordering bare root daylilies off websites, it's more than a few days from digging to planting. Now the irises... I don't know about Japanese irises, but if they are the bearded irises, I don't think you can kill them if you WANTED TO:) I'd probably dig them up and leave them in the shade until the work was done. I have dug some up in clumps, set them on top the ground, and they STILL came back. Hope this helps. Vickie...See Morestarting over (ugh) please critique new plan
Comments (32)(I think that some may not realize your exterior is mirrored to your floorplan, at least I think so--it isn't a direct match either way though, as I look at it more closely). LL's interior changes are better. So are yours--with the change of stair. I'm just not sure if that stair actually will work in the space (someone like Renovator will need to count them and tell you). But, you still have 3 ways to get from back hall to other places in the house: back hall, pantry, kitchen, out back hall, past fridge, past island stools, past dining chairs and out back hall, closet, utility, foyer, out. It is very circuitous. And, the most cramped option is probably the intended option (past fridge, past stools, past dining table). Just my observation....See Moresevere MICE problem in new home
Comments (43)>There should not be little holes and cracks everywhere for them to get in. All it takes is ONE hole. I bought an old house in an area where EVERYONE has mouse problems--in fact, when I was remodeling the gest house, I didn't tape over the hole where the old shower was, and we had PACK RATS the next time I came in. Anyhow, I'd been certain the mice were coming in the main house mostly through the laundry room, but it wasn't until I completely demo'd the kitchen that I found the spot--the ONE spot. Haven't had a single mouse since I sealed it up. Of course, that doesn't mean I won't in the future--all it takes is for one pregnant mouse to scoot through the door while you're unloading groceries, and you've got a huge problem again....See MoreUGH..new pillow not comfortable
Comments (18)I have had a hard time with various pillows in the past several years. I also can’t use down and have dust mite allergies which mean I wash pillows and encasements frequently, plus I have had some neck pain due to muscle imbalance which I have fairly successfully treated. I bought a Biosense pillow for side sleepers at BBB and it is fabulous. Not cheap but with a 20% off coupon it’s tolerable. Best pillow I’ve ever bought....See More- 9 years ago
