Washing Down Comforters/Pillows in a Maytag Bravos washer
Comments (12)* Also, doesnt the Bravos have a soak cycle on it? Yes, it does. You can choose how long you want it to last, according to soil level. And you can let it continue until it's through, or you can Pause the washer and let laundry soak longer. * I thought in the owners manual it said it does, but it will drain and stop after the soak cycle runs. Yes, it does, when the Soak cycle finishes. * I actually wash my work jeans and T shirts on sanitary cycle in my HE3T with soak cycle. The Bravos 850 also has a sanitary cycle. * How hot does the sanitary cycle her in yours, anyone know? I've never taken its temp, but it gets REALLY hot. I think the manual tells how hot it gets. * Its nice of you to remember me Mara, Im not on here much anymore, been working a pile of mandatory overtime all summer long :( but now I can pay cash for the new set when decide on what to get. Me too, gates -- working longer hours. Glad to know you're getting overtime! The increased pay sure does help. It is SO NICE to be able to pay cash for appliances and other big purchases. * One more question..what exactly is the "deep rinse"? DOes it fill more than the wash cycle or just not the spray rinse that is on the bravos. I rarely use the spray rinse, simply because I must use the deep rinse in order to use fabric softener or vinegar (or both). I'm assuming it does use more water than the spray rinse. My dd has used the spray rinse when she's washed her clothes (usually on the Quick Wash, when she's in a hurry for a particular outfit). Her clothes came out fine. I hope this helps! And I hope you get a break from so many hours soon -- after you've paid cash for the new set, of course. ;)...See MorePillows/Comforters Cycle Miele
Comments (11)I agree. The pillows cycle is excellent. All my down pillows came out well. But the 3035 at any rate doesn't have "deflate." What that is I don't know. My machine spins the dry pillows at the start of the cycle. Is that the same as deflate? If so, it works most of the time. I had 2 pillows with such good covers that the air would never escaped. I had bags of water that had to be spun out by repeated spin/drain cycles. So this inquiring mind wants to know if 2 invisible hands I don't have descend into the washer drum or whether it's the spin?...See Moreseeking ideas on how to store my bed pillows and comforter!

Comments (7)Thanks for the tip and link. Looks and so they’re sold out of most of their pillows and I wanted the one you got. One of the pillows left is a “European” style pillow which I guess me to 26 in.²? Do Europeans really use this style pillow, or is this just a style name? I am looking for a good 100% down pillow, standard size, with good down proof cotton covering. I bought a damn pillow at Bed Bath Beyond some while ago and it was almost like it was down with some bread dough mixed in with it – – not exactly the right consistency of pillow loft. I remember the good all days when I could go to someplace like a TJ Maxx or marshals and get a absolutely pure goose down pillow so not all that much money. I have two worn out and deflated (down missing after all these years) standard pillows and I thought I would transfer the Goosetown from one pillow to the other. Simple right ;-) Maybe if you’re at the international space station. I think there’s some YouTube video somewhere of how to do it with some sort of funnel land a hamster sucking on a tube at the other side, but when I tried my simple way of transferring them by putting one bag into the other pillow and shaking it was becoming a mess of feathers, so I stopped. I may be able to hook up my in-house vacuum and remove the waste bag and put a pillow there to receive the feathers I suck up from the sacrifice pillow. But somehow this doesn’t seem like a great idea and what would all the feathers pass by? Dust, lint, spilled flour, maybe some pet hair. Sweet dreams on that down? I have a few older down jackets and coats that I could rescue down from but, again, the same problem trying to transfer the down. (“It’s light as a feather.”) Those items are too torn or out of style to donate but they do have down and feathers in them. I probably shouldn’t even use this down because I think I’m allergic to it. Any suggestions? I want quality but at a cheap price. I can sew....See More- 8 years ago
