Happy New Year

I got a recipe from a friend For spanish rice I'm going to try today, I know I'll have to use the skillet to brown the rice and garlic . She cooks hers on the burner, I have glass top burners and have had a lot of stuff burn in the past so I would like to transfer the rice to the rice cooker and cook in there with the spices. Has anyone tried this? I'm going to add a 8oz can of tomato sauce also to this. I'm going to use 2 cups of long grain jasmine rice, so do I use the water measurement on the cooker or go off what I'm told for the stove measurement which I was told 2 cups water to 1 cup rice, and will the tomato sauce change the amount of water I use? Thanks in advance
