I found this group helpful, so I wanted to pay it forward and share some pictures of our kitchen now that we've been living in it for a few months. I'll list materials here, and if anyone has any questions about what we do/don't like, I'll try to come back and answer.
I'm an at-home mom, so my kitchen is open for 4 meals a day. I cook almost every meal from scratch (thank you Cook Smarts!). I'm really pleased with my layout, particularly the OTR microwave! I lost a lot of sleep over the granite, but I LOVE the finished product. The pendants and granite make me smile every single day!

Comments (11)@kks: The tiles I used were the rootbeer ones that were talked about on a thread from quite a while ago. Someone had purchased them from Moniqua(?) and decided not to use them, so I was able to get them. They were exactly what I wanted. I read that some people have added black, but the size was 2" and it was harder to fit into the spaces. I did use the enhancing sealer on the tiles and grout. I think the grout color was custom blend unsanded in bone. It still looks awesome! I wish I was so inspired for our bathroom remodel. I did find a nice accent tile, but it is taking much longer to make decisions about things because I really didn't have the inspiration like I did for the kitchen!...See MoreNeed cottage kitchen inspiration pictures :)
Comments (18)My sister has a gorgeous, fairy-like PINK kitchen. She has wallpaper featuring big floppy roses and other pretty flowers it is a happy room to be in. You can choose a gorgeous wallpaper and pull colors from the paper. I would also suggest a beadboard backsplash that you can paint any color you would like, perhaps white or cream countertops, wall sconces with colored-glass shades, a built-in shelf displaying whimsical tea kettles....oh, it could be so much fun to plan this kitchen! Comments (47)Christine R we actually just recently did away with the tile. The tile held up just fine and would have easily lasted us another 10 years + but I was ready to do away with the grout lines. Also, to be perfectly honest the white shows EVERYTHING! Wow did you find lots of great inspiration photos! I especially like that kitchen by Tineke Trigg. I've saved all the photos I could find of that kitchen and the adjoining dining room. @cpartist -- I have tried to take pictures of the house to share on the group, but we have so many darn windows that it's impossible to get "good lighting" with my cell phone camera! I need to have a friend with a real camera come take some snapshots for me. :)
