Please HELP with Dining furn. decisions!

Hi All,

It's been a hectic
year so I've decided to finish it with a little more pressure and
make an impulse purchase of a dining table & chairs:) I'm feeling a little stressed to decide on
paint/stain and fabric choices this
week. EEK!

Following are pics of what we
now have in the dining area just for a perspective of colour/style etc. We
don’t have a formal dining room and I was trying to make this kitchen/dining
space a bit more ‘grown up’…more dining/less kitchen. If that makes sense...J

To show colour in living room (just off the kitchen), I've attached a pic of this too. Same tones as kitchen...creams, ivory etc.

Initially, I was thinking of a
creamy painted dining table & chairs. I was advised though that it might be a
shame to paint a new solid maple table rather than stain.

Soooo…am now thinking of staining
the table and still painting the chairs.

Here is the table...the stain choices are all quite dark.

I've also purchased 6 of the round back chairs as shown here:(sample pic)

Also, 2 of these upholstered chairs. Was it a mistake to mix these in?

I'm covering in an ivory Belgium linen.

I can use this fabric (that I already own) on the back of the rounded chairs and the linen on everywhere else:

One 'blossom' would cover the back of the chair

Or...I could spurge a little more and look for another fabric for chair back. (the challenge is that I have to have it to them by Jan. 3rd)

Finally, we also just purchased this new light fixture for over the table:

So...the big questions are:

1) Do I stain the table or paint it given the look in the rest of the kitchen/living room

2) Is it ok to have dark stained table with painted chairs?

If painted, this leads to another question...what colour? I need to choose a Benjamin Moore colour. Simply White? Cloud White? other? (can't be too start as linen is creamy)

3) Fabric for back? Any recommendations?

We also just bought new dresser/nightstands from same place... more decisions keeping me awake, lol. As my husband says, 1st world problem. Don't over-think it.

However, I am over-thinking it and want to get it right:)

Please help!!! Thanks so much:)

Lisa
