Living room help! What kind of rug to use in my living room?
Comments (3)What are the big red scratch-outs? Furniture you aren't keeping? First step is the couch, second is the rug and third is the paint. Paint color should be based on fabrics and textiles (seating and rug) in the room. It can be custom blended, but the furniture is set in stone. When you shop for the rug, it should be 2-4 feet wider than the sofa. Slip it under the front 1/3 of the sofa and have it extend past the ends by 1-2 feet. You can use painter's tape on the floor to figure out the best size for your sofa and room. I'd replace the dining rug too, so the two are coordinated. In addition, push your TV credenza against the wall and put the TV on a swivel base to adjust for viewing....See Moreliving room help
Comments (9)Keep the TV in the current configuration and location. Hang the TV on the flower table wall. Pull the sofa away from both walls by 6" or more if you can. Get a nice rug for under the whole sofa area. Curtains for the window. Figure out what you need for an entry area that can exist where the TV currently lives. Chair and console table? The little half table and some wall hooks?...See Moreliving room help
Comments (4)Birch Lane sells furniture that you may like and seems as if they will go well with the other furniture in the room. Not knowing the length of the buffet table I ask; Will it fit under the TV or is it too long? If will fit under the TV than you could purchase a console table and put it where the buffet table is now. Hope this helps. Here is a picture of a Birch Lane 72 inch console table in Cherry. If this one does not work for you perhaps Birch Lane has something else that you would like. Comments (6)IMO the sofa is driving the bus and without more info from you how do we know anything. Light and airy you have to the extreme IMO what is needed is a huge rug , art on the walls some wood to balance all the white shiny things so maybe a nice media wall sort of like this , large pice of art and a colr fom it for the rug , some plillows and maybe even a wall color . I would add drapes to that huge window for a bit of an airy feeling but finished . I like really full sheers often. This icis just for inspiration to show how a bit of wood warms up a space Maybe even a really cool electric FP . cOlor is always nice no matter what atyle you are going for . You for sure need a new chandelier hung actually over the table and much lower. You need lamps end tables so many things . Can that sofa be spit up ? I would do that if possible wit table to fill the corners and lamps . The wood I mention should be the same as the kitchen to keep it simple. I would also fill that space above the cabinets with some custom trim to match very simple ....See MoreRelated Professionals
