I got this hybrid tea last year on the Lowe's clearance rack, and I am very glad I did. The blooms are beautiful, large, and long lasting. The fragrance, while very pleasant, is not as strong as described on the Star website (www.kordes.us). I'd describe it as moderate. I agree with others that the foliage is very clean. It should be happy in both spray and no-spray gardens (although perhaps there might be strains that would prey more successfully on this plant in other areas). The plant didn't drop any leaves whatsoever during winter here (by contrast, most of my other roses lost all their leaves or at least some), which suggests that it would likely be hardy in colder climates. I think you’d make these roses a priority depending on how much you value blackspot resistance. I’ve had True Inspiration for about 4 months now, and I think it’s sort of the lead rose in the ’True’ series in terms of sales and garden performance. It’s reputed to have great BS resistance, and I dont doubt that, but I cannot verify since my climate is blackspot free. It’s a nice enough rose, but not the most beautiful or best performer in the color class. Pink Peace is a grander bloom with stronger fragrance. Elle is more vigorous and generous, and to my eyes, more beautiful and refined. But if you wanted to be no-spray and live under high BS pressure, then True Inspriation is certainly a more substantial and fragrant flower than say Pink Knock Out. I sort of think the same way about many of the the Kordes. There are far more beautiful pinks than Savannah and Beverly but they might be high on the list for a no spray garden.

Oh my goodness!!!! Thank you Nanadoll & Cynthia! Your photos are breath taking! Now I have no idea what I'll choose lol! I do have Ascot, I actually ordered it last fall, because of your photos Nanadoll :) I had no idea it would get tall it's first year, most of my roses are pokey...but Ascot is bigger as a first year bareroot than my 3yr old John Cabot! It started off quite normal growing wise, but it's already 5ft tall and not showing signs of stopping. So I think we're tossing coins between AC Navy Lady & Brother Cadfael at the moment. I love the thought of the dark AC in front of all the hydrangeas & hostas, but my husband feels the same about Brother Cadfael...I may have to buy both, and Quadra! I don't suppose Brother Cadfael would handle 6hrs of sun in stride? Im not sure he's one of the "shade tolerant" DA's. Hubby is trying to redo everything and squeeze him in somewhere lol. I've paused writing to go over our plans... Farther to the left than my picture shows, there's a spot that gets 6hrs of sun, maybe, we could put AC Navy Lady, in the full sun spot, and Brother Cadfael as her opposite at the other end, with Darlows Enigma in amongst the hydrangeas and hostas and clematis. Do you suppose this would work? Or will he need more sun? If it wasn't the old lilac and oak shading that area, id cut them down to have more sun. But, they're beautiful...far too old for me to have the audacity to remove them. I have Scepter d'Isle, PAoK & Quadra on the list now as well! And I was already up to 30 bareroots last time I went over the list! I suppose 33 (+Darlows Enigma & Brother Cadfael, if you think they'd be ok in these spots) isn't too bad :)

Moses, I saw Apricot Drift locally earlier this year. Good to get a specific recommendation from the drift roses. They would look lovely spilling over the edge of the wall. Hmm I might brave those forums, Rifis. Not sure. I recently bought "color in the garden" at a library sale and have been enjoying lots of great garden combo photos. Still feel like my color coordination could use some strengthening tho. Gallica, yea a lot of the super hardy roses seem to be monsters that could swallow the entire garden bed. Hoping some of these newer landscape rose introductions could survive for me here though. Some are quite darling. Cynthia, I appreciate the varied and suggestions. I have a small morden blush planted this spring and I will see how it does. Wow when I look at the Kordes Veranda series, I kind of want one of each. The more calm me thinks I should have a mini hedge of all the same type. Maybe I can alternate between two. That Mango Veranda is a beauty. I am going to mull over this and try to order early spring and get them planted at the ideal time, instead of during the hotter early summertime. Thanks all for your input and suggestions.
