Comments (11)Organicgardendreams; here's a list of the roses in the bouquet; PERFUME DELIGHT & FRANGRANT CLOUD are the pinks in the middle, ST.PATRICK is the yellows on left, the stripes on the right are SHEER MAGIC with HEAVEN ON EARTH and MARDI GRAS in the same vase. The reds are a mixture of INGRILD BEGMAN, LOVERS LANE, and DON JUAN. And the whites are FABULOUS. Harold...See MoreHeads Up... Last year for Perdita from David Austin Roses
Comments (16)I'm glad to read that hoovb thinks this rose isn't very fragrant. I bought it because it was described as having an 'award winning' scent. I can smell more or less nothing. In other ways it is a good rose, however. It produces many flowers and grows into a nice bushy shrub. The leaves are 'leathery' by rose standards, and therefore not as susceptible to pests as some others. Here in SE England I spray for blackspot and mildew, but the rose doesn't need a great deal of artificial help. The petals 'spot' in wet weather but that is their only fault. The colour fades quickly in strong sunshine, which may be more of a problem for growers in sunnier climates....See MoreTHIS is why I order Austin roses from David Austin Roses.
Comments (32)Rebecca- your roses are gorgeous but so much work. I live in Massachusetts. It is so difficult to even dig a hole 10 inches deep with all the rock, boulders and ledge so I try to buy only own root roses. I have gotten some wonderful own root roses from DA and have some more scheduled for delivery next week. I hope they add more own root to their collections. I recently ordered 'Queen of Sweden' and 'Windermere' which is by far my healthiest DA rose and covers herself with delicate soft blush pink blooms from early summer till fall. She is cane hardy in my Z5b-6a garden. The only negative is lack of the "to die for" strong perfume scent that Austins are so known for. sharon...See MoreDavid Austin Roses for Valentines Day (from my hubby)
