morning bouquets

Thought I would post some pictures of the roses my wife and I cut this morning. We take a few bouquets each week to our local nursing home, really brings a smile to their faces. And why not share what GOD has bless me with. LOL

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, a man after my own heart ;-) Those are gorgeous.

When I was in the horse business, I remember the saying that "There is nothing better for the inside of a child than the outside of a horse." When we would have a new foal, we'd invite all our friends who had young kids. The look on their faces was almost like the look on the faces of the elderly when you surprise them with a bouquet....it is priceless :-) I would have to say that that is the most rewarding thing about my own garden.....the fact that it can keep producing priceless moments like this. It not only makes their day but yours as well !!!!!

I'd tell you to have a great day, but you already will :-)

Nothing quite like bouquet of flowers you've grown yourself. Mrs. Glas must be very pleased. From early spring to late fall I cut all my own flowers, grown by me for my pleasure and enjoyment. Others going by also find flowers enjoyable. Many times I cut some and give it to my neighbors and passers by.

Thanks again. Kublakan, the red one is Dublin Bay, once it starts blooming, after the initial spring flush, it seems to have a few blooms all season long. There are times when I'm very pleased with it, and other times when I'm not, but it does produce lots of flowers. I planted it own root between 2006 - 2007.

I'd be hesitant about putting bold reds and yellows with pale lavender, but I can't argue with the beauty of your result. I too would like to now the name of the lovely lavender. I'm kinda hoping I already have it - I got a few in this colour range after last season ended. :)

Bless, Harold! what happiness and you are giving. Very beautiful roses! I really love especially the hybrid tea shapes and the striped pinks.

Harold, what a bounty of roses. Very nice of you that you bring them to a nursing home.

Organicgardendreams; here's a list of the roses in the bouquet; PERFUME DELIGHT & FRANGRANT CLOUD are the pinks in the middle, ST.PATRICK is the yellows on left,the stripes on the right are SHEER MAGIC with HEAVEN ON EARTH and MARDI GRAS in the same vase. The reds are a mixture of INGRILD BEGMAN, LOVERS LANE, and DON JUAN. And the whites are FABULOUS.

How kind of you to share your beautiful roses with people who may not often see garden flowers. I'm also amazed at the number of roses you have in the summer since I have so few in my dry climate. Those are really lovely bouquets.

phatboyrose, thanks for telling all the names of the roses in the bouquets. As others said it is amazing how many roses you have blooming so beautifully at this time of the year.
