hallways: recessed or semi-flush lights?

Hi - I have a 1920 colonial. Mostly 'vintage but new' design/decor (e.g., schoolhouse ceiling light in kids' bedrooms; subway tile in bathrooms; dark wood stair railing; oak no stain floors). Walls BM Linen White in the hallways. 8' ceilings.

We currently have the dreaded flush mount lights in the 2nd and 3rd floor foyer/hall/landings (I can't write the word but it starts with "boo_"). Its a standard center entrance colonial home, so these are kinda dark areas.

Would it look ok if I replaced the boo_ lights in the 2nd and 3rd floor foyers/hallways (whatever its called) with Lotus recessed light (they are LED; flat; flush with the ceiling)? Or should I find a semi-flush I like better? Electricians cost alot here so I'm hoping to choose something classic and never change it again (moving in about 6 years). I don't really care about the quantity of lumens. TIA!
