Comments (26)I'm not clear, no island at all if you can't see the big screen from it? How about open shelves in the corner with a smaller TV in it? In my kitchen, I can see the living room TV from my prep space and from my peninsula, but to hear it, even with surround sound in the living room, the volume has to be up very loud. We are adding a 19" or 22" TV in the kitchen to make the viewing easier. You really will get very tired of not being able to use that side of your island, or having to walk around to get anything stored in the island. As for moving the stools around. It sounds good in theory. If you do most of the cooking and cleaning, you will be the one moving the stools around to where they belong, when they belong there....See MoreHow to remove granite strip behind slide-in range?
Comments (20)I am a fabricator. if the seam is silicone caulk (it'll be soft) you can just cut thru the adhesive with a "Stanley" knife or equivalent. You may also need to cut the joint between the horizontal piece and the splash. If it's epoxy the easiest way is to saw it out but you'll need a diamond blade and someone handy with a circular saw. You'll also want to trickle water on the saw blade while it's cutting to keep the dust down and have a vacuum hose at the cutting point to suck the dust. Do not try to bust it out; you could easily break the stone on the wrong side of the epoxied joint. Easiest for you is to get a fabricator....See MoreHanging a TV on wall in family room
Comments (6)remove that white mantle altogether. it's too large and really doesn't make the fireplace look better. (it's too large anyway) What I'd do is fill in all of those weird niches/arches, etc with drywall. The entire thing. then you could do this or this,,,, Ignore the left side on this one and imagine yours like the right side. (but of course it would be reversed in your space) Or, you can keep the inset shelving off to the far left, but everything else I'd make a flat, level wall. and sorry, but that green paint is really the wrong tone for your flooring and overall look of the room....See MoreTV Wall - design opinion needed
Comments (2)They both look fine. There's not enough difference in their design to make a bit of difference to the outcome. I'd do whichever is cheaper, in that case. haha...See More- 7 years ago
