It's interesting that there are 2 sinks on the island

I'd say beverage fridge and trash/recycle on this end of the island, but that's not really hidden, and fairly common these days. Maybe a mobile bar cart that pulls out? Laundry in the tall cabinet in the background? Wall safe behind the chalkboard?

Ok, I see the kitty door, but no matter what else is hidden, I can't believe that any kitchen design would locate the fridge and those wall ovens up against one another.

Lots of kitchens have side-by-side ovens and fridges, gaz. Probably a few dented doors, too. Ovens/fridges side-by-side/google.

I agree with Gazania. Especially would be irritating to me when the frig opens from left to right. There's no where quick to set the items from the oven. I like counterspace between the frig and oven.

My main objection to the placement of the fridge and ovens ( besides no handy place to set hot items) is how much heat transfer from the ovens will affect the efficiency of the fridge. I don't think any amount of insulation would keep that form being a factor.

Anytime I have read anything about kitchen design, placing the two side by side is a no, no. When did that change and why?

I think that cat just used a hidden litter box. I can't see cutting holes in walls when you could just cut a hole in a door.

Yes, there's probably a closet behind that wall, to provide easy access for changing the litter. The reason I didn't know if is it real--there must be a small opening, because I can see blue wallboard behind the cat.

Gaz, I've read that ovens, ranges, and fridges are so well-insulated these days that heat transfer is not a problem. I don't have my range and fridge abutting, so can't give any first-hand experience. It seems that most fridges are being enclosed in cabinets with sides at least 3/4" thick, and wall ovens are usually in cabinets the same thickness, so that might add to the efficiency. My fridge is in such a box, plus I left a little air space, in case the next fridge is wider.

I agree with Flamey but also think the towel holder is a pull out bar cart handle as well.

Maybe a drop down ironing board behind the chalk board, too?

That's not a shadow. It's a floor mat -- to catch the little grains of kitty litter that stick to the cat's paws (that otherwise would get tracked all over the house).

It could be a kosher kitchen with the 2 sinks and 2 levels of island . I don't know what is hidden but I love the wood of the island . Pretty kitchen .

It is the chalk board that's hiding something...a bulletin board, a charging station, router, and I'm not sure exactly what all those switches are for...

That's a good idea ! I started to say it might be the chalk board. I could use one of those .

The work island with two sinks is nice. I notice there is another 'serving' island, one that is taller than the work islands and has 3 chairs at it. It appears this island is not connected to the L-shaped island and could easily accommodate 6 people if it were moved out to the center of the room. Maybe it is moveable. It could even be self powered to move out to allow 3 more chairs/stools to be used. Say, what if there were stools hidden under that tall island. These would come into view when the island was rolled out - that would be convenient.
