Name of this rose in "honor of Princess Diana"?

According to a news story today, Prince Harry was gifted with a white rose. The story included this line:

" Harry was also gifted with a white rose in memory of Diana. Dr. Alicia Osorio, 32, originally from Mexico City, told Harry she was giving him a white rose because his mother Princess Diana was an English rose."

The "Princess Diana" rose, "Lady Diana" and "Diana, Princess of Wales" look nothing like this. The story does not identify the rose which looks more like a Hybrid Tea but it could be an OGR.

Anyone know if the rose in question is indeed named after Diana? Could it be a UK-only variety, not available in the U.S.?

Back at the funeral, there was a bouquet from her sons and it was the Harkness introduction, a white rose.

At the request of people who used to be on this forum, a number of North Americans imported this rose and grew it (in quaranteen). I saw this at a friend's garden over in Asheville NC. I would hope that some of these roses have survived here.

Now to google search for more on the name and dates.

The pic seems to come from the Kensington palace twitter account- ie, some PR person found a pic of a nice looking lady with a nice looking rose in the crowd shots - both the PR person and the nice looking lady probably know nothing at all about roses except that they want to pay respects to Princess Diana and that there's a rose named after her.

However there is a rose called "Princess of Wales". Its a white floribunda from Harkness

Whether its the rose pictured in that twitter post is another story.

On rereading this, It seems a bit snarky- sorry, its not meant personally- I have spent the evening trying to wade through internet disinformation/marketing to look something up..and its starting to show.

Georgette is a large floribunda from Kordes. According to Help Me Find, Hortico sells it. If not I have it. If you want it and can't get it from Hortico, contact me for info on obtaining a rooted cutting. If you can't find a Georgine, get her another rose similar in name and call it Georgine. as long as she doesn't try to sell it or give it away as cuttings, she can call it anything she wants. After all a memorial rose is just something planted to remember a loved one so a simple plaque stating "In memory of Georgine" would serve the purpose. Memorial Day would work also. Mark, Since we know that Aden took plants from Kevin Vaughn and Florence Shaw and registered them as his own, and we know that he was in the UK to collect plants. It is highly likely that Color Glory is actually Borwick Beauty. Perhaps this will all be sorted out in the registry some day. There is no way that Color Glory is Fascination x Intrigue (Both plants taken from Birchwood). Just one look at the flowers will tell you that. No one ever saw any hybridizing or seed growing by Aden. There were no records left after he died. It is highly unlikely that he did any hybridizing at all. He was a collector of plants (one way or another) and did an excellent job of marketing with Klehm's in the 90s. I doubt, however, if he ever created a plant on his own. Steve

Hi decoguy I think it is something else, Kiftsgate grows much stronger than this one I researched foliage and details, and the foliage of Kiftsgate seems to be larger and with a matt surface. I dont know many roses, but as a student I did an internship at an interesting public garden, they had a rose collection, and I remember almost falling over backwards when discovering their specimen of Rosa filipes Kiftsgate which grew into some kind of pine tree and was at least 30 feet high the plant in the pic is several years old, mature, and she (the owner) mentioned pruning but not stunting it, so with regular pruning somewhere between 8-10 feet high, as an estimate
