The only spot for storage, etc is the garage cupboard under the tall one. But it's not hidden, it's designed on purpose.

I don't see a hood for the stove and I have seen in some houses that it comes up from the counter behind the stove when its needed so maybe that's it

Cabinets in the island in front of the stools. I think that oddly placed (to my eyes) cabinet under the tall cabinets hides the microwave.

Although my MW is in a similar cabinet, I'm agreeing with those who said there are cabinets on the back of the island--it looks deeper than the standard 24".

Those are definitely cabinets in the island but that's not a rare thing so I believe it's something different than that. Maybe a microwave (also not rare) or a coffee station in that short cabinet underneath the uppers.

I hope that there are doors on the other side. Otherwise, ya gotta move the stools every time. Still don't like that much white in a kitchen.

Well, I think the idea is that you have the storage to put things that are used less frequently like holiday dishes and such. I don't think you'd put stuff there that you need every day.

Jim I have a white kitchen and I love it! It's so bright and airy. I grew up in a house with dark cabinets and couldn't stand them. I would never have dark cabinets.

We renovated the 1980s kitchen a few months ago.

I think the cabinet storage is perfect, especially for items not used often, and it looks that is exactly what they have done.

We have had island storage in a couple of houses although our access was more visible. I keep the glasses and plates there because that is the only places my kids could reach when they were little and I've just kept up the habit.

I have those stools only in red. They are bright and indestructible, and cheap!
